Sorry if I missed a thread about this device, but I would like to let you know what I have been able to do with it so far.

I recently did my own Brakes, and oil change and was able to reset the service "light" for the oil change.

Besides the OBD scanning the menu has the cabability to do the following.

Oil lamp reset It asks you for a date when you go to reset I imagine the ECU automatically does a year from the date you enter.
Brake Reset ( the first option in the brake reset gave me an error but I was able to move the parking brake to the install position using the second option)
ETCS Reset ( I don't know what this is so I didnt touch it) I think it resets the PDK calibration or whatever
Steering Angle reset ( same as above).
DPF reset. (don't know what this does).

I purchased the device off of Amazon for $150.00 , but it's available in many places. Make sure that you download the latest software onto the card ( it's a microSD card.).

I recently started another company so I don't have a lot of time to go through everything, but I wanted to report back that it did work for the Oil change reset, and the brakes.

totally off topic, but we have a Q3 with the oil indicator due.

How much damage to the car do you think it can do if I made an attempt to clear the oil indicator for the Audi Q3 w/ the item?

Reset service warning?

So you guys that do your own maintenance, how do you get the prompts reset? Thanks!
I'm in need of my 30K service. I'd rather change the oil, and plugs myself. Anything else I should do?
Or should I let dealer do the rest? Thanks!

I have the iCarSoft POR II and it worked great to reset the oil service light on my Cayman. I plugged it into the Macan for a few minutes and it looks like I should be able to reset the basic service reminders, but was unable to reduce (or eliminate) the rear lift gate volume. I had my Macan at the dealer for the 10,000 mile oil change (included) and asked them to reduce the lift gate volume to zero and even sent them the Porsche document saying that the dealer can do this with PIWIS, but they claimed that it's not possible. My local dealer has been HORRIBLE when servicing the cars in the past, so I guess I'm not surprised that they lied to me about turning the volume down, when in fact nothing was done.

Has anyone been able to accomplish this task with the iCarSoft plug in module?

thanks.

Dealer lowered my tailgate volume to Zero. Definitely possible through PIWIS.

They do seem hesitant to lower my AS though by 15mm ....working that still ;)

I have only used my icarsoft for oil reminder so far.

I think @Teddis is referring to the "beeping" made by the tailgate as it raises and lowers; although it cannot be turned "off," the dealer can lower the volume to zero, thereby achieving the same result.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken. . .

Oil and interm message board reset

Hello all! I’m new to the forum and would like to get some feedback. I have a Porsche macan 2017 with 6,500 miles. I’m a DIY kind of person and want to change my own oil. I’ve already seen the thread with instructions and details are excellent! My question is what tool is needed exactly to rest the oil maintenance and interm service due now on the message board?

Resetting message board 17 macan

Hello, my question is about a 2017 macan 4 cylinder. I just finished changing my own oil but curious as to what exact tool is used to reset “oil change due and interm service due now”? Thanks for your help

The iCarsoft POR II

Autel MD808Pro will do it also.

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=autel+md808+pro&i=automotive&crid=3SZI3ZF8M9TR1&sprefix=autel+md808%2Cautomotive%2C210&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_11

I bought the Autel scanner, seems to work just fine!
My question and answer about Autel MD808Pro on Amazon:

"Question: 2018 Macan S: can it retract parking brake pads for replacement? display AT temperature? register new battery? work out of the box, or update 1st?

Answer: This tool will not support this due to the 2018 model.
You would need an MS906BT

Go, figure... Do they not know what they are talking about, or are they trying to sell me a far more expensive scanner?

And here is the Amazon seller answer regarding iCarsoft POR V2.0

"Question: 2018 Macan S: can it retract parking brake pads for replacement? display AT temperature? register new battery? work out of the box, or update 1st?

Answer: Yes you can do this with the POR V2.0

FYI - My question and their (support@icarsoft.us) July 4 reply:

Is your POR V2.0 scanner fully functional/compatible with 2018 Porsche Macan S (3.0 6-cyl) as delivered? Or is a software update required prior to use?

Yes, POR V2.0 can work on your 2018 Porsche Macan. It has preload software, you can use it directly.

We'll see if "can" equals "fully functional".

subscribed, Schwaben tool when I went to order from Pelican parts told me it will not work on a 2018. Porsche made some changes apparently. Can anyone confirm ? I may have to check out icarsoft.

It is not the tailgate itself that emits the BEEP!, BEEP!, BEEP! sounds, rather they are emitted
when a button is pressed to close the tailgate.

If one knew the location of the speaker, perhaps it could simply be disconnected?

;)

I was told by durametric that the 2018 (2015 was last year) is not supported yet. still looking for a solution.
Schwaben is out. I can t get a straight answer about Icarsoft yet. Thanks. ?

Thanks, Sometimes I could not tell what year Macan the posters own. So all good on a 2018 GTS, then I ll order one. Any other tips or advise? Is there older stock out there that I d want to avoid ( I ve seen this on other automotive electronics . ). Thanks.
