How come people pronounce it Porsch-A??? LOL
When I met Ferry Porsche at the Stuttgart Werks #2 one day in 1984, he introduced himself as Ferry "Porsch-a"

That's how the name/word is pronounced in German. But you can call him Ferry.

You know the French pronounce French Fries as "pomme frites" in France, right?

Lol.

Based upon that, the proper pronunciation is "Ma tan." I'll stick with "Ma Kahn'."
I think she's actually saying "Maa-chan" there. That's obviously the native pronunciation. Funny, actually, someone here was making fun of an article which said it's pronounced "Ma-shan" which turns out to be somewhat true.

Also interesting on the "Porsch-a" pronunciation. I started noticing German accents pronouncing it that way when I started looking up tons of Porsche videos, as well as an Asian reviewer.

This would be the closest pronounciation of macan. MA-TCHAN very close to Matches.
And all this time I've been pronouncing it MA-CAN as in beer CAN lol.

It's Muh-Conn. Thats how every Porsche exec says it.

Muh-Cann seems to be how european journalists refer to it.

Ugh, cringeworthy if they'd pronounce it like that.

It's not really "muh" but "mah". "Mah-Kahn".

Or "Ma-Tchan" in its native tongue.

Yeah the results are similar. I think "Muh-Conn" is just reverting to an American or otherwise tongue (not always the most cultured in pronunciation, and I'm an American), via pronouncing an "uh" and "onn" more heavily in place of distinct "ah's".

Most cringeworthy is "Can" which I've heard some reviewers say. Definitely not proper pronunciation!

I pronounce it as "Macan", whatever I feel like. Again, I am reputed to talk to myself. LOL
