Anybody can chime in on possibility of front camera installation? I see that it's cheap to buy on ebay but the bracket on the windshield is different. Also somebody above mentioned that another windshield will be required? If anybody can chime in i'd appreciate.
Do you not have camera in windscreen? If not,

You will need:
Camera
Brackets
Wiring loom
Windscreen with the cutout for camera

Thanks a lot for this Don! I wasn’t sure what to expect so here’s my experience...

Just confirming, I was able to get this done on my 2018 Macan with Bi-xenons, PDLS (so the headlight swivel feature), and Lane Departure Warning (which uses a camera looking forward).

I stopped by an independent certified Porsche service center that I connected with, confirmed they had PIWIS3, and had sent them the YouTube video in advance (wasn’t sure if the dealership service centers would do this). When I got there, initially their mechanic wasn’t sure if PDLS+ could be enabled without the LEDs, but I showed him don’s YouTube video as well and asked him to try anyways. He did and told me he was surprised that “the car took the programming”.

Now when I push on the hi-beam stalk, the first push turns on auto-hi-beams. This shows a second green headlight icon next to the low beam one in the dash with the letter “A”. As an aside, another tap of the hi-beat stalk takes it off auto, and sticks the hi-beams on.

In auto-high beams, by default the low beams stay on. While in auto, if it’s dark, I’m going over a certain speed, there are no cars in front going in either direction, and no street lights, the high beams will turn on automatically (and the blue high beam light will come on in the dash). If the camera then spots car headlights, car tail lights, or two street lights (yes, the manual mentions this), it’ll turn off the high beams (and the blue light in the dash).
I'm glad my video was helpful. (-:

I dusted off the PIWIS and activated a few functions...

1. Remote closing and opening of windows and sunroof
2. Changed the tap-turn signal from 3 to 5 (this is really convenient, as many time I found myself tapping twice, when I tap too far from the exit or turn)
3. I'm experimenting with the "light limit", which is currently set at 12.5 W/m^2. This function determines when the headlights automatically turn on. I find it annoying that the headlights in the Macan turn on even during the day when there is a shadow. Also, they turn on very early. The value for dark limit of civil twilight under clear sky is 3.4 W/m^2. So, I changed the value to 7.5 W/m^2. I'll report later if this works.

Anyone knows how to activate the hatch close from remote? I try to activate coding for remote close and would not allow. And both comfort hatch open and close are activated, but I think this is associated to the driver's door button.

Just tried closing the hatch by holding the button - amazing feature.
@Opt1k, did you use the interior button (holding that interior button on the driver's door) to close the hatch? Or did you use your remote? If the remote, how did you activated the feature and how do you use the remote to close it?

I couldn't get it to remote close of the rear lid from the key fob either, Launch wouldn't let me write to that setting for the Rear Lid module so I'd love to know as well.
I did do:

  • Teardrop wiping
  • Acoustic feedback on locking
  • Change one touch flashing cycles to 5 flashes
  • Comfort Entry/Exit Drivers Seat Travel fore/aft change to 40mm (from 26mm)
  • G Force Display
  • Tried Performance Display(have enabled & can get it to display, but can't get the trackball to display)

Santrix,
I have Teardrop enabled:
With Launch it is Front end electronics, WWS Coding, WWS-coding-Teardrop active

After the wipers stop, it will wait like 10 seconds and wipe 1 more time to get rid of the "teardrops".

Thanks. Just figure it out and enable it about 1 hour ago using PIWIS. However, I tried it and didn't work. I was stopped when I tried it, so, wondering if I have to be driving at a certain speed. We are under a winter storm right now (a nor'easter), hence I don't want to take my Macan out just to test this.

I remember having this feature in my 2011 Audi A5 and my 2000 VW Passat...

I feel the pain :D

About the exterior light sensor / sensitivity adjustment. I tested it today, and it seems that changing the light limit to from 12.5 to 7.5 W/m^2 didn't seem to have any effect. I changed it to 5.0 W/m^2 to see if that has any effect (with 3.4 W/m^2 being recognized as dark limit). Again, my objective is to alter the auto-on feature of the automatic headlight so that is not as sensitive and can turn on my headlights in darker setting. At this point, my headlights are turning on automatically with plenty of light. It would only turn off automatically when there is direct sunlight.

Maybe this is not the right setting to change, but trying at...

Front-End Electronics : Exterior Light Parameter : Light Limit

In PIWIS --> BCM Vorne : Aussenbeleuchtungsparameter : Hellgrenze

Tear Drop was no issue & not speed dependent. Acoustic feedback males an audible beep when locking the car(Launch X431 Pro Mini screens below)

It's the challenge of getting the performance display to work, not that I need it!

I also have Autel MaxiSysy MS906BT, it's no better (I reckon not as good as the Launch).

Thanks...

For teardrop, using PIWIS, I changed the “WWS-Codierung Traenenfunktion aktiv” to “Ja” within the Front-End electronics. But it didn’t appear to work. I’ll check and test it again.

I think I figured out what was going on with the teardrop function. I think it works in conjunction with the rain sensor, and only activates if the rain sensor detects any residual droplets.

The reason I say this is because I took my car out around the block to test this, and it activated only when it had some residual droplets in the windshield. Would not activate when the windshield was completely free of droplets. This is why it was not activating when I was stopped (I guess I have very good “and new“ wipers).

I may be off base on this, but this is muy best guess.

I also activated the rear DLR lights... Nice feature,.

Also, with setting the ”Aussenbeleuchtungsparameter: Hellgranze” (Light Limit) to 5.25 W/m^2 (from 12.5 W/m^2) seems to be having an effect of delaying headlights to come on automatically when is bright outside. More to come on this - more evaluation needed.

For the acoustic feedback for locking, is that the “beep” that sounds when you lock the car? if so, I already have that active from factory.

Nice....Santrix...what is rear DLR lights ?
Daylight running lamps ? maybe we have that on default here in Canada ?
Yes... that’s rear day running lights. Rear lights stay on while running with daylight. I may or may not keep this, have not decided yet. Looks cool.

Can you take a pic? is this like the circle of light on ?
Photos below. I know is nighttime but I turn off the auto-on to leave the DLR lights on.

There are 4 rear lights that are on while on DLR... the center part of the taillight and the side markers are also turned on.

I wonder if having this feature on reduce the life of the taillight by any significant margin.

What was the coding for that (PIWIS or Launch - I don't care)? I'm going to try and keep adding things to my "how to" post above so that people know where to find these things in Launch (and folks who know PIWIS can easily translate from Launch to PIWIS).
