well, if you‘re used to the auto high beam and it does not work the same way in your retrofitted Macan, my assumption is your independent mech did not the coding right.

He likely changed the lamps from Xenon to LED, but did not get the auto high beam part right.
Did you have that function before with the old headlights, and do you have the appropriate front cam required?

Each car is different. I tried the same mod with a second car and must say I failed. The car did throw all kind of errors (PSM I believe). It takes time to make sure HW components are suitable, comparing part numbers and browsing PET and options. Thus, no guarantee it works with all cars...

LED front heahlamps have been retrofitted to my Macan, and, i was told by an independent Porsche specialist which did all the retrofitting work that my Macan is PDLS+. The question is - how i can check if PDLS+ working properly? In my Boxster with PDLS+ i can see that the car automatically on and off the high beam depend on the how far vehicle traveling in front, but i can't see the same on my Macan.

Hi all, decided to setup a YouTube channel. I am obsessed with cars so I thought what better way to share my passion....

One of my videos is how to enable PDLS+, for this to work you need at minimum xenon headlights and front camera(one used for Lane assist or traffic sign recognition)

Anyways heres the video, please subscribe to my channel if you also share a passion about cars:

How do you know if you have PDLS+?

Got a Launch x431 PROS Mini, coded off the seat belt chimes, and enabled the remote to open/close the windows and roof. Still trying to figure out how to enable the remote to close the hatch...
Care to share details on how you did it?

Thanks a lot for this Don! I wasn’t sure what to expect so here’s my experience...

Just confirming, I was able to get this done on my 2018 Macan with Bi-xenons, PDLS (so the headlight swivel feature), and Lane Departure Warning (which uses a camera looking forward).

I stopped by an independent certified Porsche service center that I connected with, confirmed they had PIWIS3, and had sent them the YouTube video in advance (wasn’t sure if the dealership service centers would do this). When I got there, initially their mechanic wasn’t sure if PDLS+ could be enabled without the LEDs, but I showed him don’s YouTube video as well and asked him to try anyways. He did and told me he was surprised that “the car took the programming”.

Now when I push on the hi-beam stalk, the first push turns on auto-hi-beams. This shows a second green headlight icon next to the low beam one in the dash with the letter “A”. As an aside, another tap of the hi-beat stalk takes it off auto, and sticks the hi-beams on.

In auto-high beams, by default the low beams stay on. While in auto, if it’s dark, I’m going over a certain speed, there are no cars in front going in either direction, and no street lights, the high beams will turn on automatically (and the blue high beam light will come on in the dash). If the camera then spots car headlights, car tail lights, or two street lights (yes, the manual mentions this), it’ll turn off the high beams (and the blue light in the dash).

Anybody can chime in on possibility of front camera installation? I see that it's cheap to buy on ebay but the bracket on the windshield is different. Also somebody above mentioned that another windshield will be required? If anybody can chime in i'd appreciate.
