I had the same done by Gulf Coast Auto Shield in Houston. Did that shiny chrome trim piece along the front bumper, the window trim and had the exhaust tips power-coated gloss black. FWIW, the 6-piece kit for the black window trim is $800. This would not cover removal and installation.

What’s the best way to black out the chrome trim around the windows? Replace the trim or have it wrapped somehow?

Cost matters, but so does looks.

You can pay a wrap shop to do it for you or you can do it yourself. The shop can do it one of two ways. They can either remove all of the trim and do it or they can do it with the trim still in place on the car. They will likely use knife-less tape and a vinyl wrap with a heat gun to secure it. Or you can do the same thing at home with the same items.

Pretty sure I'm going to do this myself. Comically cheap for the materials. Even if you go crazy you could not possibly spend more than $150 doing this. Honestly, I'm wondering if I should do the roof rails too while I'm at it - it's just that I'm sure it would be torn if I ever decided to put the cross bars on (which I may never do anyway)

There are companies that make kits. I installed one on my present car and it's perfect. I did the chrome window trim as well as all the chrome around the grill.

I'm not certain who makes it for Porsche . . . . but it works well, holds up well and looks great.

 

You mentioned using a kit for window trim. Did you use something like the Ebay kits below? I see these and they are very cheap, but I'm suspicious of the quality and durability.

 

I had mine wrapped at a cost of about $1k. Looks perfect, like OEM.

 

I used Cruz and the quality was amazing.
