In the older two headlamp system only one (1) is functional. It is not the case that selecting high beam illuminates the second
headlamp.

Specifically, the cornering lamp is neither of the two headlamps. The cornering lamp is between the two, as illustrated in
the photo below.

Think about it - cornering illumination needs to project at an angle to the forward direction of the vehicle. If it were coming
from a headlamp, it would have to swivel in the neighborhood of up to 45 degrees.

I tried this on a 2016 Turbo (spending waaay too much time, effort, and cost) and in the end they would not physically fit.

The module location on the new lights is on the side (old style is on the bottom). This side module on the driver's light prevented them from being installed, as it was hitting the PASM hub/pipes (at least I think that's what it was).

Maybe the base or S models without PASM have a different layout which would make this possible. IDK.

Also, for the record I tried this with the 2019 PDLS+ lights. The ones pictured above with the round DRLs are the standard lights. I'm not sure if these have the same modules.

The Malaysian fb post is a CN aftermarket product which replicates the latest 2019-2021 headlights plug and play, they give replacement mounts which is just bolted by 2 or 3 screws. They are identical but does not have the porsche lettering badge inside the headlight. It however does not have adaptive cornering lights.
And it requires the 2019 oem headlight rubber seal, the older headlight seal does not fit on the 2019 aftermarket headlight.
It would only need a manual alignment and require an auto coding tool from any high end version coding tools like PIWIS or autel maxicom to enable the high beam function.

There is a way to retrofit the original 2019-2021, requires modification of wiring plug, but the coding part is more tedious with trial and error.
I would highly recommend going for the CN aftermarkets instead, the LED quality is identical.
Difference is the adaptive corner light. I do not find it a necessity but it does add some safety being able to increase tight corner visibility for others and yourself.

I changed my xenon’s to LEDs on my 2015 Macan Turbo years ago. Search my posts. It was the previous gen led tho (2017), not the newest one

I did this with The parts from Alibaba spent about 1300 USD with shipping : Quality is B to B+ customer service and instructions are F- Everything you read above is correct : You have to have it programmed but they look great and light intensity is much improved. Not just lumens but wave length is very different. It has been about months no degregation. Weirdest thing in the install is how to stop the Headlight wiper fluid from leaking forever on to floor once its disconnected. So I swore a lot during.. once done .. I like the look and light it puts out. Yes you need new gasket and some of the plastic components that were on your car you have to either remove or cut [ I cut them ] If you guys need help let me know. If you have small hands you do not have to remove the bumper to cap the hose that supplies to headlight wipe squirt thing ..

I didn't need to break open the headlight washer module, was able to push it down after removing just the top cap and just strapped it with zip tie. Even though it has no function even for the old macan headlights, definitely cannot break it open part because it is part of the washer reservoir for the windshield wiper.

hmmm strange , Mine is Bi-xenon and I am wondering now . My MK7 GTI performance did swivel the main lamp to a degree when cornering and had cornering lamp as well . i never noticed this with my macan though , what am i missing here ?

I have MY18 Macan s with Bi-xenon , also if someone could recommend white HID's and All other replacement LED's (e.g nimber plate , interior lighting etc etc ) . I personally dont like yellowish head lights .

Band-aid solution using PIWIS III available for Alibaba headlights to eliminate instrument cluster error messages while keeping full headlight functionality:
  • Deactivated the”headlight range regulation defective” error message via coding under instrument cluster.
  • Recalibrated headlights following PIWIS procedure under headlight central
  • Deactivated AFS warning lamp under instrument cluster.
No more warning errors visible on dash and aftermarket headlights fully function. Note; the headlights technically are not communicating with the instrument cluster (fault code 29000 stored), however, I am satisfied with the results given they are aftermarket headlights/modules. OEM would be able to communicate and if I ever decide to revert back it’s simple reactivation of the messages I coded out.

Hopefully this helps other folks with Alibaba/chinese headlights.

Each to their own mate , I like the LED lights and functions it provided over bi-xenon. so i upgraded but bought factory Lights and got them upgraded at specialist all done professionally . they were straight swap with some coding . i had trouble with wrong modules but good people here helped me out by identifying the correct modules.

It is possible from bi-xenon to LED in gen 1 to gen 1 but not gen2 unless you buy after market . as long as you buy a pair of factory lights and correct control module you shall enjoy all PDLS+ functions and worry free ownership . mine are also covered under Factory extended warranty since they are a Porsche product , confirmed by dealership .

Hello everyone, I recently purchased some aftermarket matrix style headlights for my 2015 Macan S. I currently have OEM PDLS headlights. I plugged in the new headlights to test them to see that all worked correctly before I do the install. When I plugged the OEM headlights back I got an alert on the dash "Headlights Range Regulation Defective Service Required". Also, now my high beams, cornering lights and AFS all seem to be disabled and not working now. low beams and DRL work fine still. I have a Launch scanner and got code C11006 Control Unit, Coding. I tried to clear but code still comes back. I did some research and looks like i may need to recode my headlights in order to get all functions working again. Is a PIWIS the only tool that can do this? Is there any other tools that can do this coding? Thanks for your help
