Hello . Our Macan is 2015 model with 45 k km.
Exactly the same issue as described ???
All started with clicking noise and complete ignorance of Porsche service center as car was taken twice for investigation . 150$ paid for above each time ...
Mechanic report stated - all fine ! Noice reduction possible to achieve if exhaust system is replaced ???

Hey guys, I owned a macan S 2015, 3 months ago these messages came out, took the car to Porsche dealer they told me it was a problem with valve system transmission, they changed and all went fine for 3 months and those messages came out again, do you have ideas what is happening?

Sorry I can't help, but I have had exactly the same problem come up today, so will keep you posted if I get any resolution. Had the mechatronic unit replaced a month ago based on this problem and the same errors came up earlier today...

So update for mine, Porsche is replacing the whole gearbox. I also had the valve body (mechatronic) unit replaced last time around. Will take 12-15 days to ship from Germany then needs to be installed.

When I scanned it I had P0700 pending and permanent codes and also a P007(00) 'test failed' code.

So the PDK needs to be replaced?

What’s your Macan year, model and mileage?

Yes, Porsche made the call to replace the whole transmission this time. They said they could have replaced the mechatronic again, but given they have tried that once they made the call to install a whole new PDK transmission this time.

Mine is a MY15 Turbo with about 28,000 miles. It is under a Porsche warrantee, so no cost, just a couple of weeks wait.

Lucky you! Not much warranty left for ‘15.

It’s a $17k cost for PDK replacement.

Indeed it’s rare. However, when it happens to your Macan it’s 100%.

The cost is almost half of the value of most ‘15 Macan’s.

The Macan motor costs $50k too.

HOLY COW!

That PDK is marvelous piece of engineering, for sure, but $17k seems over the top. Another example of Porsche price gouging?

Thankfully the need for PDK replacement seems to be rare, wow!
My '15 Turbo just rolled over 23k miles so I hope this is a rare problem indeed. I bought as a CPO, therefore warranty runs to 2021. If this tranny problem were to manifest itself anytime between now and then, it would be covered. But thinking this is something that could pop up after the warranty runs out is SCARY. It might be time to then look at CPO 9xx.x's! BTW, where does one find a cheat sheet with all those confusing 911 designations? The Macan is my first Pcar so yes, I'm a Pcar noob....but hooked. 0:)

I'm taking my Mancan to the dealer again, base on your experience I hope the change the whole PDK in mine, so happy is still under warranty but is annoying when you have a car that expensive and you are not enjoy it...wish me luck, I will keep you update

Yeah, I hear you. The 2018 Macan S that my wife ordered in Aug. 2017 is our first P-car.

- Wikipedia has a decent article on the 911, and includes references to that 991, 997, etc., engine-generation stuff:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911

- OTOH, if you want a nice overview of the models, without that engine-specific stuff, this Road & Track article is pretty good, IMHO:

It includes a link to Porsche's own explanatory video:
