Well, the time has come to make a decision if I will paint my rims gloss black! I have the stock 21's and my shop can do it in a 3 day turnaround time. $400 all in... Wondering if it would make my car look better, or 'worse'. I honestly LOVE the way the stock 21's look. They are so well put together, have such a beautiful contrast of silver/grey and I really think it would be such a shame to ruin such a nice rim. Im worried it wont look as good in gloss black, BUT I could be wrong.. What are your thoughts?!?!?!

(I know the pic of the black 21 is from a Cayenne, to get the idea as they are pretty similar)
Black rims on a nice car are pretty badass. But I'd want to see the photoshop example of how it would look before I took the plunge.

Agreed. Woudl be a shame to paint the stock 21's and then have it look like crap! I love the way the stock 21's are painted w/ the grey accents against the aluminum... ugh.

I am looking into having my 21" turbos painted shortly after delivery but I would love to see an example before I take the plunge.

Are you guys thinking gloss or matte? Leaning towards gloss.

This is on a white S.

$400 is a great deal by the way. It is going to cost me $900 here in Tampa :(

Its going to look incredible on the white S...

Having intricately detailed gloss black wheels on my Evoque currently I have to say they are very hard to keep clean and scratch free. The scratches obviously are prevented with careful cleaning. The brake dust is extremely apparent, however and requires constant upkeep. Given the detail of the turbo wheels, you will have a much more difficult time cleaning without scratching. If you want less pain, go with matte black as it will easily hide brake dust and it looks just a stunning. The only times you will notice gloss over matte is in direct sun when the wheels have the opportunity to shine. Otherwise they appear matte in shade or low-light conditions.

Here are a few shots on Autogespot - the first one may just be a dirty gloss black hehe:

Obviously a Cayenne - but you get the idea of gloss on white:

Lets see some of YOUR fav's. I think the optimum wheel size for the Macan is 21" at most... 20 or 21's would look perfect, whereas 22 would probably be a bit too big.
Here are some rims I like & some websites of some good companies. Feel free to click the links below & enter the sub categories then save & post any pics of rims you think would look good on the Macan!
edit-Forget the colour of the rim in the picture. ALL rims come in silver, black, chrome. Just looing for the actual style of the rim. Personally, im looking for black rims for my white Macan & the any rim that is in silver below, also comes in black which is great. I just posted a bunch of different options.

Thanks for starting this thread. Let me know what you decide to do and if you have picture. My Jet Black Macan S should be arriving any day now. It's jet black with black window trip, roof rails, side blades, and black leather interior. I bought the 21' 911s instead of the classics (spokes are too wide, don't like them) and my plan is to either leave as is, paint them (not sure if gloss or matt), or buy the GTS rims that the Cayannes have. I'm ultimately going for the black on black look you see with the Cayenne GTS with the diamond ring around the black rims.

Best.

Didn't end up doing the black. I feel like I'am 'runing' the beautiful finish ont he stock 21s. However, I did paint my grey areas of all bumpers to the body colour, and had the calipers painted red. Just a few small things, but they make a pretty big difference IMO. They really make the car look that much more put together. I can't stand the cheap look of the grey, especially in the rear of the Macan S.

Heres my ride..(Wish I rememberd to put the AS on low for the pics :(.. ugh)

you may want to read the reviews first before buying. I personally have never heard of this manuf., therefore, just do your homework first for quality, after sales service, warranty, etc.
Thanks a lot for that piece of advice, Bobblehead. I'll surely keep that in mind. I'm also thinking of having the rest of my car customized. Do you have any idea where I'm to go to do that? Thanks!
