While that looks interesting, I'd hate to draw attention to the fact that there's a Key left in the car.

Obviously we all know that will not start w/o the fob present, but most thieves may not until after they've broken in... :(

I always think that unless you leave a wallet / purse/ diamonds/ gold laying out on the front seat most goof balls won't mess with the car. Pro thieves will steal the car or its contents regardless. That's why we have theft insurance .

It's like the old adage " locks are for honest people".

I don't have my vehicle yet (3 weeks ETA) so I haven't had a chance to see what it looks like in-person yet. I didn't pay attention to the key during my test drive! So I won't be pulling the trigger on this until I do get to see it in person.

But what I did find interesting is initially I thought this was some sort of cover for the existing "dummy" key. But apparently you can remove the dummy key...

"Installation Note: Turn your old key plug to the far left and hold it that way for 30 seconds. You will hear a click that unlocks the mechanism and you can then remove it."

Much faster way: leave you key fob outside the car, then turn ignition on. Message appears (forgot what it said), then turn ignition off, and pull the dummy key out. Done.
