I had the same problem with mine but stuck at 15.5 C
I took it in several months ago and the dealer replaced the sensor and now its fine.
He said ..its a pain to get to the sensor so it took a while ...maybe thats why the other dealers are blowing the job off..who knows.

My sensor just went out also after a trip to the dealer. I gave dealer my spare key so not sure if it's key related. Mine was stuck on 77 all day yesterday and it was 100 outside. As someone else mentioned they probably got these temp guages from the same company as the RVCs.

Has anyone questioned the reading/accuracy of the outdoor temperature sensor? I'm fairly certain mine was close (enough) to accurate when I got the car in December. Lately, it has been off by about 10 degrees. Reads lower than the actual temp. It seems to think it's 73 degrees on most days... don't I wish. Where is the sensor? Somewhere near the headlights?? Thx.
I am also having problems, the temp gets stuck for up to half a day. I took my car back to the dealer two days ago and they told me it was a software problem and they had fixed it. Now the temp gets stuck every time I drive it. I'll be calling the dealer Monday morning!!

I usually open the window and if it's hot or cold then I know the temperature is... well, hot or cold :)

Sorry @Leah , couldn't help myself .

Hope they fix that thermometer problem pronto for you .

@Leah, I haven't been paying much attention to mine lately -- maybe because it's most accurate when the outside temp is in the 70's (which it has been of late), the sensor seems to like/agree with that :)

My car is going in next week to have a door buzz/rattle fixed (I hope), so I will pay attention to the temp reading this week so I can mention it to the service guy if it is still way off.

Mine still does it but only when it's very warm. I've given up trying to get it fixed.

My dealer replaced the temperature sensor which fixed the rather random outdoor temperature readings. I asked if there was a fix for the limited range of the garage door opener transmitter (literally 10 feet iff directly in front of the door). They did not fix it, but I was amused by the response from the tech: "it is functioning as designed".

My temperature was always off by anywhere from seven to ten degrees in my 2017 S. Took it to the dealer and they did a software fix? The problem though is that on my way home I noticed that my clock was off by five hours. I tried to reset it several times but every time I started the car it went back to being five hours behind. The dealer tried walking me through the process but concluded that something was definitely wrong. So back to the dealer. Apparently the software fix to correct the temp. screwed up the clock--so another software bug/fix and the clock is working--fingers crossed.

Mine seems to be accurate.

I think it gave an erroneous reading 1 x during the first few weeks of ownership. A passenger mentioned it but, I didn't pay much attention as was still getting to know the car & haven't seen an issue since. I do look @ it every day. If the car was sitting in the sun it will read much higher than actual temp temperature until you drive off & a few minutes pass. But that happens in my other car as well.

I had the opposite problem only in severe heat where the car would indicate a temp of 24c when it was 30c. Just had my car in for a service and they said reprogramming the instrument cluster with new software fixes the issue but sadly it's not warm enough to confirm if the fix works yet ?

I had my sensor completely go out two weeks ago. I talked with my Service Manager and he stated this has been a known problem. The only fix is to replace the sensor. The software update will not fix the problem. If you still have any warranty on your vehicle then have it scheduled for replacement. The cost is ZERO.

What do you mean by completely go out? Did you get no reading at all or was it was just constantly inaccurate at all times?

I had the check engine light come on and couldn't figure out why. Took it in to service center and they told me the sensor went bad. They replaced. Here's the funny thing…NO crap…I get in my car this afternoon and the temp was about 13 degrees off. It said it was 68 out side and it was actually 81. After driving down the road about 5 mins it jumped to the correct temperature. I was like WTF! I should have knocked on wood when I made my comments yesterday…LOL

Sorry if I reopen an old topic, but my Macan (MY17) continues to report (in hot weather) incorrect outside temperature (22 ° C instead 27 ° C).
I did the latest software update, nothing.
Did you solve it?
Thanks.
