I ordered an S last July in Miami FL (really Coral Gables if you know the area) and was happy to find out the dealer didn’t mark up the price over sticker.

 

Back in 2017, I was able to negotiate 4% off MSRP on my spec'd to order GTS at the time that I put in my order request. Discount was confirmed in writing via email but actual price cannot be because Porsche can make changes to price and availability of options by the time the car is actually built.

Those days are gone though. You may be able to get some traction on base trim but there aren't enough GTS allocations yet for dealerships to allow discounts. Just try a couple of stores and ask.

 

I ordered august 2022 . Macan s .. got porshe service for 3 years free , mats and ppf price matches with external installer.. so yea kinda good deal

 

3% discount for me. Could have easily got 5 if I really wanted to. When my GTS arrives, I know they'll definitely throw in a bunch of stuff as well. Me/The Wife just had our first child in July, so Im banking on a few things for the little guy Cant wait for him to pull the cover off the GTS on delivery as well.

 

Hard to give a meaningful response when you don't indicate your region, or even your country. Hopefully, the witness protection plan is working well for you.
I have never, and will never, pay over msrp. There are always alternatives, including waiting. Prior to 2020 (before covid and supply shortages), I received discounts of 5-6% off msrp on new, ordered/configured Porsches. I received 10-12% off on lot Porsches (inventory), but mostly late in the model year. During the covid era, I received a token loyalty discount on my '22 Macan GTS from a dealer I had purchased several cars from, and a token loyalty discount on a '21 MB AMG from the same dealer ownership group (late in model year). I find loyalty pays off, but even then, some dealers need to be reminded of what they have enjoyed from you, the loyal customer.

Rebates in Germany seem to be a bit higher, ordered my T model in late November with about 7% percent (no financing). Actually there is this car portal carwow to which I signed up before to check out the situation. Another close-by dealer offered 7%, so I asked my preferred dealer (top repair shop) if he could make it possible as well - he could, confirmed with his boss - the negociation took some 5 minutes after the config was defined. I believe I could have negociated for 1or 2% more elsewhere, but I wanted this dealership. Interestingly rebates for new bimmers are a lot higher, according to the portal mentioned above (15%), but no personally convincing models...

One late remark: Just strumbled across the US configurator, list prices are much lower in the US, even with the rebate included, a similar US config shows about 7K less for mine.

Yes, the prices you see quoted in the US, (not just for cars, either) and that includes on the configurator, don’t include sales tax/VAT; mainly because sales tax rates differ from state to state, and even between different municipalities within a state.

 

Thanks, now I remember...When living in the Southwest some 35y ago, there was always this mail order magic thing with which you could avoid these taxes...no chance here to get around, but assuming some 5% on top of the MSRP will still be less than here (~5%), including my local rebate and $/€ exchange...

The missing fees differ greatly in each jurisdiction in North America. Here in BC 5% would be a dream: ours add up to 25-35% if your msrp is over $100k. We get taxed on top of taxes.

In Virginia we pay property tax on our cars every year.

Back in 2018, I negotiated 10% off MSRP, one free additional yearly maintenance, and a free set of all-season mats on a Macan GTS.

In 2020, I negotiated the same deal on a Macan GTS....same dealership.

This time around on my new 2023 Macan GTS, MSRP....and that's it. Different dealership because my original dealership couldn't acquire a GTS allocation for a year, and wanted $5,000 over MSRP.

 

It doesn’t hurt to ask. Now I am wondering if I could have gotten a discount just by playing dealers against one another?

 

...Wonder how the dealer´s slot assignment influences the delivery date in short term???
My sales rep showed to me his dealership assignment for the model I ordered and it listed April. Would that car be delivered before that, if built before, or better said, if ready to be built before?

 

I ordered a 2023 GTS in May of 2022 - paid MSRP. I have long history with same dealer and in the past (pre - COVID) have gotten 5%-13% discounts on orders. Bigger discounts on Panamera and smaller on 911s. I have always paid MSRP on GT cars. The relationship is important. I can email the Mgr. with what I want, he will tell me pricing and then I can send him an order and they will let me know along the way how it is progressing.

The market is softening today for Macan and Macan S and discounts in some regions are likely. GTS at MSRP also likely and small discount for some. Today if I wanted a GT car from same dealer, I would have to pay some ADM due to demand and limited supply. So the relationship will get me an allocation which many can't get, but the market is dictating the pricing and I have no issue with that - I appreciate being able to get what I want, how I want, when I want and am happy to pay fair pricing.

GL finding right deal for you - don't be shy call every dealer close to you and see what they will do!

 

Ordered my GTS in March and took delivery end of November. Got just about 2% discount and free all weather mats.

 

I am buying my second Macan in the Toronto Ontario area. My dealer uses a fixed discount, except if you are taking European delivery, which I am, so list price.

 

I was able to swing free all weather mats and rear cargo liner this time around, normally on a custom build I get 5% off plus the all weather mats and rear cargo liner for free. In the current market MSRP seems top be the new 5% DISCOUNT. the dealer told me in November when i picked up my 2023 Macan S every car there sell now is at MSRP and the only ADM is for a GT car but the Macan GTS does not get a ADM just MSRP. I was also told that they have a 2 year wait on a 911 and have stopped accepting orders from non existing customers because they have to many people in line.

 

I was friendly with the sales manager at my "old" dealership where I had bought 3 Porsches before. They had a change in ownership and they moved him and the General Manager to a Ferrari dealership in the group. I was told as recently as Thanksgiving that they were the owner dealership offering cars at MSRP and supposedly everyone else was getting mark-ups. A couple quick phone calls and I found another dealer at MSRP and 2 other dealers offering discounts. So much for loyalty discount. I gave my dealer an opportunity to match my best deal and they wouldn't budge. And I was buying 2 Porsches giving them back 2 Porsches they could resell. Told the dealer I ended up at this story and he remarked that the market is going to change and yes they aren't discounting as muich as they used to, but they don't want to take advantage of people becasue the market will turn and people will remember who dealt honestly with them.

I will second that. I have tried South Shore a few times over the years and never found them to be ready to make a sale. There was always some issue. I wasn't aware of new ownership there but I can say that when I went in about 6 months ago, they were not very anxious to make a sale. I purchased a few cars from Huntington and found them good but the last time they gave me a price it was frustrating and not competitive. Maybe the Covid shortage had something to do with it. When I went to Amityville, and spoke to one of the owners there, it went smooth and they gave me a better and easier purchase and trade in. I have already sent them referrals. I expect delivery in approximately 4-6 weeks.

 

Anyone in south florida area ordered a Macan recently? I am thinking of placing an order for a Macan T and was hoping to get 2-3% off MSRP, not sure how realistic that is.

 

Understood, e. g. Arizona sales tax (~13%!?) would already eat up my calculated 11% advantage from the US configurator. So my 5c, no reason to buy abroad...

New to the forum. I am actively shopping for a Macan, peaking with dealers, and would like to know what type of percentages people are getting off of MSRP in this post covid climate? I just want to make sure I am negotiating properly. Thanks for any guidance! I checked for any older threads but didn't immediately see one.

 

Here in Germany we pay so called motor vehicle tax. For newly licensed cars there is now an increased double dependency on engine displacement and excess CO2 emission (above 95g/km). For the 2.0l Macan it's 443€/a and for my 900cc turbo Fiat500c w 86hp it's only ~19€/a (no excess CO2 penalty). On top of this there is insurance, as everywhere...all in all still OK, I think...
