Is the iCarSoft Porsche scan tool capable of reading/clearing the transfer wear integrator? Can it read the oil level?

I need a tool that will be able to reset the transfer wear integrator and oil service interval once the service has been performed. Oil level is important too - the gauge in the car INFURIATES me, I need to know the exact oil level.

How has the tool worked for you? Will the iCarSoft tool accomplish the 3 things that I need?

I am confused! I bought a new POR v2.0 to reset the main maintenance reminder. I have made the software updates to it, and when I went into Oil Reset option, I only see the following Oil Service Reset Maintenance Interval. It Does not give the me option to reset the interim (20k) or main maintenance (40k) reminders that I see in CR Pro videos on Flat6. Has anyone recently been able to perform the reset with this device?

@oqjnLu@>@W , if you get a chance, can you check if your V2.0 still shows the following options? My V2.0 definitely does not have this path, no software reset or intermediate maintenance. I only get the following optin once I selected Macan. Thanks!!

Yes - I couldn't locate the thread yesterday and the day before...

Here it is:

Porsche -> oil lamp reset -> software reset -> manual select -> Macan -> Intermediate Maintenance

Let me know how it works for you.

Good luck!

Finally got the 40k maintenance reminder reset done with the older iCarsoft POR II. Not the v2.0, that didn’t work! Hope this help others in the future!!

I'm preparing to purchase one for my new-to-me Macan Base and based on my limited exposures on this forum most of you here are using the Porsche-specific POR v2. I saw a version on Amazon that able to do 10 cars and I find this better since I do have several other brands that may need some scanning in the future. Has anyone used/experience the

iCarsoft CR V2.0 Diagnostic Scan Tool for Multi-Brand Vehicles (10-19 Vehicle Choices) +Oil Reset +EPB+BMS+DPF+SAS+ETC+BLD+INJ

How is it? I'm sure I'll just be doing the somewhat basic fluids changes and resets like oil, brake fluid, transfer case, coolant. Any negative?

For some reason, the V2 didn’t allow me to reset the intermediate and major service intervals on my 16s, only 10k oil service reset was available. I ended up returning it for a POR II and that worked perfect! I posted my experience here: https://www.macanforum.com/threads/icarsoft-por-ii-features-and-discussion.168379/post-2758402

I just got a used CR PRO off another member here, and I am able to see all of the service interval reset feature on this version as well.

Also check out the OTOFIX D1 Lite, made by Autel. Scans a ton of car makes, and will do PDK calibrations, all the service resets, live data and bi-directional actuatons of individual components.

Got mine on Amazon, and couldn’t be happier with it.

Thanks. sounds quite a bit complicated for a beginner guy. I don’t even have a clue what that directional communication would do to the car. The PDK reset can’t be done on the icarsoft?

Actually I was asking more about the icarsoft CR v2 on the Macan but the admin moved it here where everything are all mixed together.

If the concept of bidirectional communication is beyond comprehension, then it might be the safest bet to
forego such an investment and leave performing resets and vehicular programming to those with greater familiarity.

The resets are relavitely safe operations, though tweaking various parameters increases the risk of potentially
turning one's Macan into an expensive brick. It's akin to the days when people (with a little knowledge - enough to be dangerous) would
modify the config.sys and autoexec.bat files on their PCs, then reboot only to find their system malfunctioning.

Read and educate yourself before using these diagnostic tools and/or watch some videos illustrating their uses - maybe even get
together with some enthusiasts and watch and learn how they use the devicess for various operations.

Good luck!

Sounds like it’s also called “coding”? Definitely not the coding type kind of guy. I’m more the toggle on/off for functionalities like exhaust burbles, auto windows, headlight timer. Those kinds of stuff.

Never liked MS-DOS and happy not to see that again type of commands again. On a Mac.

Battery registration related posts have been move to that discussion thread.

Reviewing many of the posts above I have noted that people seem to be either confusing the iCarsoft POR II with the iCarsoft POR v2.0
device and/or mixing discussions between the two devices.

Again, this thread's title indicates it's for discussing the features of the iCarsoft POR II device.

Conflating the two devices appears to be serving to confuse forum members.

Oh great. Now I’m really confused. Not to mention there’s a POR V3 too.

why don’t someone just say which one works the best with less issues and most flexibility.

we really can’t just dump every single topic that has iCarsoft in it into this thread.

I just changed my rotors and pads. when i try to clear brake lite, my icarsoft por II sorta errors out. says it in “ready to assemble” but I am done and clicking on it does not reset it. trying to to update but the use fricken old tech.. gotta download to SD little card.. who got that on their computers nowadays!!! geez

I didn’t think there is a need to reset brake wear light with a diagnostic tool and this video confirms it. All you need are new brake pads sensor and drive afterwards..
