Seems Porsche are upgrading the PCM 6.0 features (article link below) and enabling wireless Android Auto for those cars. Still no news on PCM 5.0 and for Macans.

This is just for the listed cars, tycan, 911 , panamara - not Macan

FWIW, I read somewhere (sorry I don't remember where) that the Macan PCM will not be upgraded to 6.0 because it requires more than just a software upgrade. What I read said the Taycans etc. have a PCM with a faster processor that can handle 6.o but the Macans do not.

This is what I heard too but I don't understand why they aren't enabling this from the start... I mean, it's android auto, they've done a whole new PCM as well, how hard can it be to get it working on PCM 5...
I flipped the switch via coding in my 2021 GTS not long after I received it. The wired and wireless "Google" options are in there. I'm not saying they work, but they are there. I just could not get it to properly connect.

Very strange decision on Porsche to keep the car they sell the most of, on the old PCM...
They intend to make every penny they can, with the least amount of investment. Read the other thread here about the lack of updates to the overhead console in 2022 (still the same buttons/console as 2021, despite a complete center console refresh for 2022).

I know, I've seen all the discussions on this... unfortunate but I have my hopes up that none of these will hinder my enjoyment of the car. It's going to be our first ever Porsche.

I'll probably look into how difficult it is to enable Android auto but in all honesty, I've never used it in any of my previous cars.

I can confirm that simaservis1108 provides a powerful service and enabled Android Auto in my new Macan S model 2022 (2x USB-C without card reader(s). I couldn't believe that the latest Macan doesn't support Android Auto, while the other new Porsche models do, I'm all the more pleased to have it now.

In terms of enabling AA to a MY22, is factory warranty voided?

Debating this vs Car Play AI Box
Warranty will be intact because we calculate activation code per your VIN.
Everything appears valid on diagnostics and no errors stored in the PCM.
And what is even better nothing gets disassembled from the car.

It is totally dependent on how it is activated,
Read my other post you will see very detail what method will effect warranty and which one won’t :

I only saw one section that mentioned "warranty"

Initially, I was afraid to patch the application in the PCM5 due to restrict warranty policy. I have done some research that people did in PCM4 system. They have patched MIBroot program in RCC board to bypass the signature check on the FEC (Function enabling file ) and repackage it into IFS image and then flash it back to unit for Android Auto activation.

But there isn't any solid indication of yes or no whether warranty would be voided if changes are made to the PCM?

The car in the following conversation is the car I did like 2 weeks ago.Macan 2020 with PCM5 system.
Guy decided he wants Fullscreen HD Android Auto with split screen.
After Android auto activation car went into service for steering rack replacement.
Steering rack replaced withing warranty, without any issues.
SVM Online via Porsche Partner Network performed at the dealer.
Android auto stayed after online check with the dealer tool.

In other words with our activation there will be 0 problems at the dealer with warranty.

It will be again due to chip shortage.
And yes you are right.
PCM5 is produced by Alpine.
New PCM6 is produced by Delphi.
And there are nowhere near enough Nvidia chips to meet the demand of PCM6 across all platforms.

I just finished enabling Android Auto for my 2022 Macan GTS with PCM 5. The Android Auto has been enabled with Full HD resolution and split screen by Simaservice1108. The work was done without the need for SD Card slots just with a regular USB stick and a couple of USB-C connectors. I can assure you that his work is spot-on, needs very minimal instructions, fast and smooth. Oh, and I need to stress that he's very dediacted and very reasonably priced compared to others I checked with.

Finally releived and happy that I don't have to be forced to switch to Apple ecosystem just because the car manufacturer dictates so. This was the reason I always stayed away from the Apple ecosystem. And Porsche more or less behaves like an Apple among car manufacturers (Although they have started to change a bit recently, especially with the PCM 6 update). "Thou shalt not dictate what products I can use within my digital ecosystem"

PS: Android Auto can only be "Wired" and not possible to connect wireless with PCM 5. I'm sure Simaservice1108 can correct that in his post so that it could be clear for everybody.

I am writing again to confirm that @simaservis1108 was able to activate Android Auto with Full HD and split screen (photo attached). Initially, he activated it on February 25 with a low resolution, but when I later learned about the HD/split option, he was willing to activate it at no extra cost. Actually @simaservis1108 was kind enough to do this today from the hospital where he is currently suffering! It's also why he couldn't remove the PCM icons (called: "Whole Screen") at my request yet, but he told me to do so as soon as he gets home and has access to his desktop again.

Note: AA doesn't work wirelessly, but I don't think that's a problem. In other cars of mine I have AA as a factory option and it often doesn't work, very unstable so I've made a habit of always plugging in the cable anyway.

Note 2: Another forum member @InnovativeSoft assured me that he can provide the same service (AA Full HD with split screen and Whole Screen).
