Another satisfied customer over here, sima added Android auto ($150) and enabled voice control ($70) to my 2018 macan last night.

Only negative I've come across in my one day of using it is you lose the ability to advance a track with the programmable diamond steering wheel button. Previously this was working fine for me when connected with Bluetooth. I imagine the same happens when using carplay?

Today at the dealership, I was told that 2022 Macan will receive over the air update soon for android auto.

Is it true? I believe 2022 macan still uses pcm 5.

Interesting to see if this eventuates. I hope PCM 6.0 doesn't necessarily come with the update as I don't like the look of PCM 6.0 compared to 5.0 (though do like the Apple Music integration).

I dont think it supports android auto as of now (wired/wireless). Will have to wait and see for any update.

On a lighter note, there are Android boxes on amazon and ebay for like 200 bucks which are plug and play.

So pcm 5 does have coding to support android auto wired. Its just they need to flip the switch though ota so its enabled.

This is what I heard too but I don't understand why they aren't enabling this from the start... I mean, it's android auto, they've done a whole new PCM as well, how hard can it be to get it working on PCM 5...

Seems Porsche are upgrading the PCM 6.0 features (article link below) and enabling wireless Android Auto for those cars. Still no news on PCM 5.0 and for Macans.

Better to get a CarPlay AI Box than wait for them to update. At least then you get wireless Android auto and can also run any android app in the car (YouTube, Netflix, etc)
