I am writing again to confirm that @simaservis1108 was able to activate Android Auto with Full HD and split screen (photo attached). Initially, he activated it on February 25 with a low resolution, but when I later learned about the HD/split option, he was willing to activate it at no extra cost. Actually @simaservis1108 was kind enough to do this today from the hospital where he is currently suffering! It's also why he couldn't remove the PCM icons (called: "Whole Screen") at my request yet, but he told me to do so as soon as he gets home and has access to his desktop again.

Note: AA doesn't work wirelessly, but I don't think that's a problem. In other cars of mine I have AA as a factory option and it often doesn't work, very unstable so I've made a habit of always plugging in the cable anyway.

Note 2: Another forum member @InnovativeSoft assured me that he can provide the same service (AA Full HD with split screen and Whole Screen).
To all Macan (2022) owners who wish Android Auto. Today user @InnovativeSoft successfully activated it on my car in 1920x720 Full HD or 'Whole Screen' mode. See photos, note how the resolution is just right. Notice the split screen and see how the top and left PCM bars are not visible and thus do not make the screen smaller. You can always get to PCM by going to the Porsche app in the AA menu. If you put the car e.g. into reverse and need the rear view camera, that will continue to work too. This is how AA should be displayed. 👌
There are more forum members who offer to do it, but I recommend now the service of @InnovativeSoft.

Initially I had another forum member activate it on my car in February. However, unfortunately it turned out to work only ~50% of the time. The other 50% AA just didn't start after plugging into the cable. Once when I plugged in a second phone to charge it auto-started its AA but after that it never worked from the first phone ever again. Eventually it stopped working with my second phone either. So I decided to give the installation a second chance with @InnovativeSoft who promised to fix it with a different approach. From my experience with other cars I know that Android Auto is not perfect and always comes with flaws. Maybe it's the reason why Porsche didn't activate it on PCM5 as a factory option?

I am therefore very curious whether it will continue to work with the new installation and will try to post my findings here at a later date.

I wanted to plug Sima again. He had previously enabled Android auto for me on my 2018 gts, but after a scheduled maintenance at the dealer where a PCM upgrade was performed, Android auto was gone. Sima re enabled it for me at no cost.

No way I was living without the Android auto after having had it for a year

Hello guys,

Good news for your PCM5 owners out there.
Android auto can be enabled and it can be fullscreen ! :)

And it can be done remotely.
Who is interested PM me.
I would appreciate it if you or someone who has had fullscreen android auto enabled on a Macan would post a photo showing how Google Maps appears in fullscreen after you do your installation. Thanks.

Quick update after more than a month of use: it works flawlessly!! 👌Services from @InnovativeSoft are highly recommended.

Only on one occasion did the Android Auto screen not come up after I plugged in my phone. But that turns out to be very easy to fix by doing a factory reset. Thereafter my phone was already connected automatically, just I had to re-enter my Porsche Connect pairing code.
SET/Settings -> System -> Factory settings

Other than that one time, AA always works immediately after connecting the cable. Even better, you can type your Google Maps destinations on the screen while driving (and not in voice-only mode like in my other cars). @InnovativeSoft also assures that he is doing the AA activation in a way that would not cause any potential warranty issues by preventing code 000609 from being added to the activation key list from the engineering menu.

Again, recommended, don't hesitate if you want to have Android Auto in your Macan. 👍

I just picked up a 22 Macan GTS and would like to use Android Auto (can't believe wireless AA isn't standard at this point). Is there a consensus as to the best way to add AA to the new Macan?

I don't want to do any 3rd part hacks/updates to my system at this point, assume I will need a pluggable device, looking for the best one on the market and most reliable.

I have those "hacks" on two of my Porsches and have had zero problems.

Hi all!

Recently picked up my Macan. I have wireless carplay activated but need activation for Android auto.

I looked through the forum and saw several options:
1) Accessing PCM5 switch to activate AA remotely offered by Innovative Soft and Serviselektronike
- anyone used one or the other? I've reached out to both and waiting to hear about their process and price tag

2) A carplay/AA box

- Worried about lagtime and freezing with option number 2 - anyone have recommendations for a box they have used for a bit and like?

3) Aftermarket kit that can be installed
-I'm not too handy and don't want to mess around with the hardware so this is off the list.

Thank you in advance!

I used Innovativesoft and am pleased with the end result. It feels like a factory implementation aside from the button saying Carplay instead of Android Auto. He has several posts here that speak to how it is done, this may be the most useful in terms of understanding what is needed.

Several of us here have tried the Carplay AI box. It provides a lot of options and functionality, it can run a full version of Android and with it any apps that are compatible with Android. It does have its quirks and may require a bit of patience and tweaking depending on what you are trying to do. I have it but eventually decided to have Android Auto implemented by Innovativesoft, and have found it much more convenient to use.

The thread for the AI box is here

i use a box, its maybe 5-6x cheaper than getting remote activation for the non-fullscreen version and probably 8-9x cheaper than the full screen. At that price I could just use an old iphone constantly plugged into the car for carplay which works better than AA anyway

Hi did you buy a plug and play device in the end? Which one did you go for?

I've just been in to Porsche Mayfair (a Porsche directly owned dealership) and 2 of their staff, including a "product specialist", swore blind to me that new deliveries of Macans have got Android Auto enabled. Has anybody else experienced/heard anything about this?
