If you are planning to keeping your car, i would not wait till 160k. I don’t care what the “engineers“ say. 40k-60k change out all the fluid. that’s just asking for a $10k trans failure .
I'm only at 30k miles right now. It seems like such a departure from the rest of the service intervals which seem like overkill. 30k plugs is odd with iridium plugs, 20k brake fluid, etc, and then 160k miles for the transmission fluid, even if it is a lot like a manual transmission in there.

I checked my plugs early they were fine. Then I pulled them out at 60k and they were still fine. I just replaced all of them since I already had them on hand. They burn really hot cuz of the turbo compression but they could have gone another 40k min. Once you hit 60k do all the trans and diff fluids. They were super dark. All of them.

Already did the PDK clutch fluid, Transfer Case, Rear Differential, crossover hose replacement and timing cover bolts. I have a set of spark plugs on hand and removed the right front one which looked almost new so put the original back in.

Yea the plugs are a scam. Iridiums last 120-160k. i originally bought 2 sets on a deal thinking they were gonna go out fast. 😂

I just read this post for the first time. Sounds strange to me. Where did the missing fluid go? There must be more to it than what the OP understands, like a missing piece of info needed to make the right call from us as a forum. FFL-3 is just Porsche's approved PDK fluid. Sounds to me like the shop says you need this dirty old fluid with contaminates to keep the PDK running or it will blow up and fail.

Maybe this shop doesn't want the potential liability issue if they do a PDK service and the PDK fails later down the road. Like go someplace else because you messed up.

Agree that 40k-60k is probably not necessary for the gearbox/differential oil, but 160k seems like too much. That part is basically like any other manual transmission but with an integral differential. They're just not as hard on fluids as any other transmission with a friction surface that wears down and contaminates the fluid (e.g. PDK clutches (also cools the mechatronics), transfer case clutches, or even a standard torque converter automatic). Same for the rear differentials (except maybe the sport diff).
