I'm trying to get a quote for MBI but not having the best experience with a local Geico office where we had our policies opened. I need to send 2-3 emails and maybe they reply after a week or so.

Is there any way to get a quote for MBI "straight from Geico" or I should find a different local office?

Yes, absolutely. If you don't have your new car yet, you can go on Geico's website and do a 'replace vehicle quote' and they automatically include MBI (and roadside service) in the default quote they give. I've been running some quotes on VINs similar to the build I want. What's strange, that I've noticed, is that if you decline MBI from the quote, they remove the option to put it back on until you do another quote. Very odd.

I've also had good luck calling Geico's 1 (800) 207-7847 and getting in touch with someone right away that can answer my questions. I don't use a local office at all.

I think you are allowed to add MBI to a brand-new car within 15 months and 15,000 miles of buying it, so if you already have the car, you'll probably want to call and talk to someone.

Thank you. Yes, I already have a policy in place and the car is about 4 months old. I only dealt with a local office because after I got the initial quote online they started spamming me with daily phone calls.

I'll call Geico's no. and ask about adding the MBI.

Please let me me know (in a PM at least), what they say and what they quote. I wonder if the number that they gave me ($448/ 6 months) is high or just the going rate these days.

I never worked with any office. Called Geico directly and have done everything online ever since. MBI has been amazing so far.

I can't keep us . . threads getting deleted, closed and merged faster than Usain Bolt.

Since someone had asked . . .

GEICO MBI is ONLY transferrable to another GEICO owner and within first 15,000 miles. (I think there is also a time limit, but forgot to ask)

My vehicle insurance costs every 6 month are: $309.60

The Porsche Macan Base and the Subaru are about the same price. They are within 1 HP of each other.
BOTTOM LINE: I am paying $5.60 per month for MBI - Talk about a steal
Insurance for the 2022 Subaru is roughly the same as the Macan Base . . Subaru 260 HP. // Macan 261 HP

Wow, $480 total from Geico for 6 months in NYC is a steal! I haven't seen this low rate living within five-boros. And I have no traffic violation or any accident in last 10 years (knock on wood) but was quoted $1300+ for a Macan and that's without MBI or care rental. Am I doing something wrong?? Or do you know someone from Geico? ;-)

Topic has been discussed (I've written long posts about specific experiences) . . . but the short version is it's great.
I've yet to hear from more people who's gotten MBI on a Macan recently, though. The quote I got from them a few months ago (August '22) on a random Macan S on a lot (so I had a VIN to use) was somewhat expensive - $448 for 6 months, or $75 per month, which is way more than folks have been mentioning for coverage they got back in 2018-2019.

That does seem a bit on the pricey side . . . . it may be a function of where you are garaging it and if you are using it for business/pleasure.

Mine was garaged in our weekend home which is a small place in the Hudson Valley . . . . I want to say that venue you might be a factory but, as I ponder, I'm not sure venue has any correlation to "Mechanical Breakdown".

I've had two occurrences . . . both transmissions that bit the dust . . . GEICO was wonderful to work with, handled everything, including the claim for a car I'd sold a month earlier and they initiated and processed the claim and I was paid within 10 days.

When the headlight went out on the Macan . . . I called them and let them know. Told them the quote for the part was $2,875 and the dealer was talking up to $1,000 for labor. They didn't bat and eye and called a couple times to keep abreast of developments and remind me they were there to help.

They've been an absolute pleasure to wrk with whenever I've had any problem.

Yeah, it definitely feels pricey, but I was using a random 2022 Macan S that was for sale on the internet for my quote, and I don't know how "real" the quote was. But I did notice that I'm the only person in any of these threads that has gotten an MBI quote in the last year-ish, so I'm wondering if the price went up.

I quoted the Macan S as a replacement for my truck, which I drive to work ~once per week and I put ~7k miles per year on.

So I dunno. The Macan I ordered just finished being built, so I haven't done anything with the quote. i'm still looking to see what other people are getting for recent quotes for MBI for their Macans.

Well . . I posted that invoice so folks would have a starting place upon which to base comparisons.

It may merit, when you get your VIN, to contact GEICO and get a quote based on the particulars of you situation . . businessperson, where garaged, miles/year and so forth.

You can find detailed summaries of my experience with GEICO MBI in other threads on the topic. Short version, my experience has been wonderful. I see GEICO as my "transmission and engine" safety net.

This should be a link to one of the prior threads #91

Yeah, I totally get it. Your post and others like it made me look into MBI in the first place (since I'm already a Geico customer). You've had great experiences with that, and I'm looking to keep the Macan for a long while, so I'm definitely interested. I was just shocked at how different the pricing was for my quote. But, like you said, I'm going to wait until my situation solidifies a bit more before pressing further with it. I was just wondering if the quote I got was a current-state-of-affairs thing or if I'm being hosed.

My 23 Macan S MBI is $70 every 6 months which I just added. I thought of waiting 14 months to add it, but I dont want to risk it that they increase the rate then. My loss would be a little over $140, and for the extra 3 years protection it seems worth it.

Is there any way to get Geoco MBI on a 2016 Macan S with about 70k miles? I bought it a year ago and it came with a 6 month warranty that has now expired so I currently have no coverage.
Call them... My payments are about $24/month since I bought into it within a week of buying mine. I'm currently on their plan and fortunately I haven't had to need them yet at 66K miles on an '18 Turbo.
