Here's the female power plug they sent me that would not fit. The female part is the factory quadlock connector for a 3.1 system. I have a 2016 Turbo model with Bose. Thanks for the help. View attachment 281787

This looks consistent with the PCM3.1 connector. Now, on the female side, do you have a photo of that? Did you remove the optical connection from the female quad connector before attempting to connect? the optical connectors go now into the converter box.

EDIT: Nevermind, I saw your original photo and saw optical connector out.

Given this, it should go in. No reason why not to...

You need to open the lever almost to the 9 o'clock position, then push connector in, and then go the rest of the way by closing the lever into the 12 o'clock position.

After some wiggling and force it finally seated. Not the greatest fit but I guess it will have to do. I don't see any connection for this to the upgraded radio, is this ok or the radio is missing it? Also, can I used the factory sat radio connection for the 4G input? Thanks!

There are some new 12.3" Android units with a Qualcomm CPU and slightly different vent appearance showing up on Aliexpress now. Two advantages:
1. They are cheaper - selling for about $700 shipped
2. They have a version for PCM 4.0 available. These are labeled "B" model while PCM 3.1 is the "A" model.

The trim and airflow rerouting looks similar to the Dainav unit. The Qualcomm CPU is 8-core with 8GB RAM and 128GB flash running Android 13. Hard to find info on this CPU but I think it has similar performance to the UIS7862 used in the Dainav.

Is anyone having issues with phone call mic audio quality? I am getting complaints from different people that it is hard to hear me while I am on a phone call. Like I am covering up the microphone or I am underwater. I have tried changing the front/back mic option in the settings. The person mentioned that there was no difference in quality after changing the setting.
@pixel1987 - I just wanted to draw your attention to my post in the other thread about this unit. I discovered my mic was not installed correctly from the factory or had otherwise come loose. Might be worth checking. Unclear if this is a common problem or just something that happened to me.

Another Vendor like DAINAV.......with terrible reviews...... steer clear......

They're pretty much all going to be like that. There are a small number of more well-known vendors of Android head units (Joying, Xtrons, Eonon, etc.), but their support isn't great either. There's no Kenwood/Sony/Pioneer/Alpine in this market.

PS - that newer unit appears to also have a higher resolution screen: 2000x900. The vents also don't have a closure mechanism.

Did anyone ever find an matte/anti-glare screen protector that fits?

My TOSLINK to MOST converter is on the way and then I'll be ready to install. The currently available version from Aliexpress is 8-pin with a metal case FWIW. Hopefully the pinout matches up.

Oooh nice. You went with the clear instead of matte? My main concern is glare with such a big glossy screen.
Edit - I guess I should be worried about fingerprints too. Matte should be better there too at the cost of some clarity.

Anyone else using themes?

And a stupid question by me...do I need to factory reset to go back to stock? I don't think I will do it because I like the ability to customize the buttons on Theme40, but wasn't sure if there was some other non-obvious way...

@drawz are you familiar with this theme system from the XDA forums? Do you know where I can locate others or at least understand if I can modify these? Theme 40 I can't get anything to appear in the middle frame or change what's in the top 3 windows...can't even change km/h to mi/h..
