@ferdiaz , is the knurled center finger piece black as opposed to silver ones in the kit ?
I fear that's the case, yes. Unfortunately, that also seems to be how the OEM vents are designed. The metal bit from our headunits is a bit of "artistic freedom" from the guys at DaiNav.

Personally, I like the metal looks. If there was some kind of "sleeve" that could be clicked on top of the black finger pieces, I'd definitely go for that.

By the way, in case any of you is considering upgrading the old style AC side vents to match the new style center vents, I found this vendor in AliExpress selling them for a reasonable price:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003755296553.html

Old and new style vents look as though they are interchangeable with one another, so I'll probably end up ordering a set.
Yes, I’ve seen these and they are actually in my Ali Express a checkout cart for months now. Note that there are a few quirks (which for now is stopping me from getting these).

1. The color of the knobs that move vent up/down/side is black, while the unit is chrome. You will need to add new black knobs and change the ones in the unit. They are available. But you’ll have to mess up with the unit’s vent. Alternatively, I think that these vent knobs could be changed to chrome, but I haven’t found those knobs in chrome.

2. The dials that open/close vents are not illuminated by LED… if you have that feature (I have it), I’ll lose that. Wondering if there is a way to transfer old vent dials to these new vents.

We are in the same wavelength. I have asked question #2 to the seller, as I didn't see any cable in the photos from the rear side of the vent. That being said, I did observe the small bracket where the cable connector is meant to be fixed in place, hence my hesitation.

Here's a photo of the original center vent:

And here a photo of the AliExpress center vent. See how the clips are in place, but not the cables:

Looking at the design of the part, even if the AliExpress wheel isn't backlit, I suspect it should be possible to transfer the wheel from an OEM unit to this one, as the designs are so very similar. But at that point, it begs the question: would it make more sense to simply buy a used set of vents in good condition instead? Donor vents would be anyway needed to replace the wheels.

A more interesting question, however, is: would it be possible to replace the wheels in the center vents from our headunit? That would be the icing on the cake!

As for the chrome knobs, I will ask DaiNav whether they are willing to sell the knobs individually. I am sure they'll be happy to do some extra business.

Alright, after some investigation across the interwebs, I found this. I think it could do the trick for having all knobs in chrome:

Here a version from AliExpress:

Down to trim ……I'll be loosing that black cable :)

Just received and installed the dotless unit, I don't have the Bose system just factory audio so I had to use the amp_cnt wire. However none of the rear woofers including the speakers behind the rear seats are not working, but the tweeters on the rear door do work. All of the front speakers work perfectly fine however. Also when the unit turns on, there is a very light static noise coming out from the speakers as well. Any help would be appreciated!

Hmmm, dang it !! Sorry I have no experience with the regular audio system. It does however sound like a wiring issue. Unfortunately the documentation with unit is very poor.....in fact, there is none. Maybe get with a local audio installer ?

I finally got some time to install mine over the weekend. Overall the unit is great quality and I am very pleased! To make the install easier I was able to push all the in wires (with provided quadlock extension cable) behind the new heating vents before installing them. I feel like made the job easier.

One thing to note about the mic. Initially I made a test phone call and forgot to plug in the provided mic. However the person still heard me with good quality.... After I spliced into the factory mic (from Santirx mr12volt mod) and placed another phone call. The quality was worse with the factory mic 🤷‍♂️. Then I tried plugging in the provided mic and the quality was the same as it unplugged. I decided to leave the provided mic unplugged.

One issue I am having is my reverse video feed does not work. The car detects that is was put in reverse and the parking sensors detect. But there is no camera feed. Does anyone know if there is a setting? I have verified that the correct yellow RCA is plugged in.

Great news, , for back up video , go into factory sethings, and look for “Switch Backup Camera”
Set that to default , and reboot, and test.

No need for the SANTIRX Mic Mod on this unit. And no need to connect external mic. It works well out of the box.
