Trim:
S
Year:
2015-16
This is my latest experiment…. This one will be uninstalled and returned as I got another one that seems to have better integration and much cleaner look with better trim details…. I was able to secure digital quality audio end to end and the sound is as good as PCM3.1 digital. No loss of audio quality…

Trims are not all the way in, as I’m going to be swapping all this next week, but I wrapped one of them in brushed aluminum to match the rest of my trims which were already wrapped.

Overall impressions are good. I lost intersection light (which I was expecting and not a big deal), and map/audio screens in MFD which I just unselected and now they don’t even show up (I never used that). Other than that, good integration.

Steering wheel controls worked with android radio, but only volume, mute and “call hang up” works for CarPlay, which is the exact same behavior of OEM CarPlay in my 718.

I’m pleasantly surprised at how good this looks in person.

Installation and details video coming soon in my channel (https://youtube.com/@porscheDIY?sub_confirmation=1), after I receive the other unit.

If you have seen my videos on PCM3.1 CarPlay upgrade, you know that I started with Joye CP module, then moved to Isudar, then to Mr12Volt. Mr12Volt audio quality and connection reliability were the best, but fall short with video quality. This is yet the latest adventure with my head unit.

That looks like an fyt 7862(s) You may want to clarify that with the seller. I have just installed a Dual screen and will be selling my FYT shortly. PM me if interested.
Is the fyt7862

Hi,
I’ve had this unit for a few months and it’s been great but yesterday the bass went out. The audio still works but any bass in a song is gone. I have a 2015 Macan S w/ the base audio system (No Bose) which I don’t think has a separate amplifier. I’ve tried to reset the equalizer and increase the bass with no success. Also the problem is both with the radio and apple car play. I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and how I may be able to fix it. I hope it is a simple fuse but would appreciate help on where to look for this. Any help is appreciated.

I'm going crazy with my unit, I bought a unit on aliexpress (I don't know the brand...) my car is a 2016 Macan with stock PCM 3.1, no BOSE equipment or anything. The unit came to me with the typical MOST adapter, but in my wiring harness I don't see any connectors....
It works everything correctly (the radio turns on, I see the rear camera...) but no music or anything....

Any suggestions?

You just don’t connect the converter. There should be rga cables coming out the radio then going to connectors of your Porsche. Upload a photo of your entire harness and we’ll tell you what to do. For example here’s mine. I have two sets of rga. One is if use the most converter box the other if I don’t

I think by default the 12.3 unit is made to work with MOST fiber for audio out. As @Teddis mentioned if these have the built in amp you'll need to identify which pin outs are assocaited to the FrL/FrR/RearL/RearR speakers and then hook them up to the associated speakouts on the quad connector. Unfortunately, I do not know the wiring diagram of that in the non BOSE setup. I'm sure wiring diagrams exist online, but a car audio shop may be your best bet for that. They my even know offhand if they've done any base Macan setups before.

This thread may be helpful:

Looks like the speaker wires on the base system were identified... assuming your wires are the same then you would just need the corresponding pins on the back of the 12.3 for the mapping. If there is a stock amplifier in the location @Teddis mentioned then you need to check if those are taking high level inputs (speaker wire) or low level inputs (RCAs, maybe not) so you can get the right input to them. I suspect, based on the wiring that they take high level inputs and if you tap into the wires from the 2017 sound package post that should resolve your sound issue.

All just a guess from me, but maybe the information will point you / your audio shop in the right direction.

Does anyone else have the 360 degree camera system? on mine the front / rear and drivers side work ok but the passenger side is just black? It was working fine before i installed this radio and if i understand well there is only one video cable going into the unit so i doubt its the unit itself that is bad. So either its some setting or a bug .... or coincidently either the radio or the car module itself has failed.

I have seen that before in dual screens… the issue is not the black box, the issue is the position of the car graphic which should be within that box. All your cameras are working well. The car image is just off centered. In dual this was solved with a firmware update. But with 12.3” I’m not sure. Let me ask someone….
