OK. my lock date is happening soon. Time for a last minute stupid options headache harsh decisions me thinks. I have found at least 5 if no more forum threads on this and Zero real answers about the quality of the picture in the surround view.
Is it the same bad as the rear one only, is it better, is it worse?
Can someone brave, or all-in options guy/girl?, who opted for Surround View on Macan (may be noone up to date) can chime in some feedback and post pictures of the surround view views? if this option upgrade pic quality of the rear view only cameras i might pull the trigger. sigh.
I have surround view on my S, which arrived in beggining of May, ordered in February (Moscow, Russia). I don't remember nothing about quality of a standard rear view camera. But surround view camera is rather useful option. The reason is - Macan is my first SUV and I can't correct feel sizes of a car.
The resolution is good, quality of picture is nice, but there are some strange issues of this system.
Once it doesn't started, worked park sensors only...
Another one permanent annoying item - when you choose one of a standard "views", you must choose this option manually every time when you select "R" on gear stick.
Other... the direction lines are dim. And in "Fly View" when system founds an impediment, an area (around park sensors on the screen) paints to yellow or red colors, and these colors are too non-transparent so you can't correctly see distance to the impediment.
I hope Porsche will fix all of these issues soon by new software.
Anyway if I would order Macan now, I'll choose this option again.
Tim.
