Anyone have a recommendation for a sunshade that fits the Macan well?

looking for something that stows easily after collapse and obviously reflects the heat/sun well.

Enlider I am still in the hunt as well + I subscribe to the *buy once, cry once* school of thought.

I have no issue w/ spending $50-$75 for a well made screen/shade, as it gets toasty here. High temps or direct sunlight are no bueno for items that must remain in vehs., not to mention interiors as well.

If nothing else the CoverCraft model looks like a solid option, hope someone updates this when they have one available in a few weeks.

Picked this up from Costco this afternoon for $7.99. It has that silvery color on the outward facing side. And it folds up to about an 8" diameter disc.
Thanks Rammjamm!

I wonder if that means that the Macan windshield inside dimensions are ~ 30” x 57?”

This is the type of sunshade I’ve used for many years & really like it.

If 30x 57 fits Macan that this one (60 x 32) I linked earlier will surely fit

$14.97 & free S&H if order > $35.00 on Amazon. Has money back guarantee. Has 1515 reviews ave 4.4/5.

If anyone buys this & tries it out please post back your review!

That one looks to be pretty much the same thing I got from Costco. It looks identical. I also forgot to mention that the costco one came with two smaller ones for the side windows as well.

@iconoclast

I'll bet you're right, it will cost $55 or more. That's about what a gallon of wheel cleaner costs, or the H20Guard I just bought a gallon of, think that cost even more. But those get empty pretty quick, the sunshade will last considerably longer.

I always buy the best of any and every product I can. If the Covercraft is the best, it's the one I want. I know people who spend $55 a week in starbucks and all they then do is piss it out.

So which one did you purchase from Amazon? Link?

If SunCoast would get reasonable on their shipping I would have one as well.

Until then I'll wait to see what CoverCraft comes up with & YMMV as always.

Thx for the update Enilder, your feedback after receipt will be useful.

I called the nearest P car dealer to me (Bossier City LA) and the parts guy claimed that he didn't see a part # for one.

Anyone know w/ a certainty if the one sold by SunCoast is a Porsche OEM product?

Well it's becoming toasty here in Tejas, so I ordered the CoverCraft but now they are showing 8 Aug. as their *anticipated* ship date, geez.

That said I bought el cheapo version locally just to protect the leather on my dash until the delivery from CC. So much for my *buy once, cry once* mantra, c'est la vie as they say one state east of me.

I like the Porsche shade overall. The only thing I don't like it's that the outside surface gets really hot to the touch when you folding it back. More so then the cheapo ones. However I think it does a better job at keeping the heat out than the cheap versions.

AGREED Enilder as mine arrived Wed., so the 1st usage was today.

IMO CoverCraft has set a high bar w/ this, one that other manufacturers may/may not choose to emulate.

Glad I waited until this one was available & as always YMMV.

The Porsche Macan sunshade I got is great. I got mine from Reeves of Tampa. It's cut to fit the Macan windshield, and comes in a nice bag. And it looks cool from the outside! The best part of it all is that it was a gift from my Salesman. It was shipped directly to my house.

Perfect Fit--Great Value!

Tried the X-Shade I had purchased from Amazon & mentioned a few posts back. Jumbo Size, approx 57” x 30” only $14.97. Comes with storage pouch. Excellent value! Fits my new Macan Turbo perfectly. Covers every inch of windshield area, especially around the mirror where many similar products allow a gap to let light/heat in. Folds very compact. It is a bit difficult & time consuming to get back into the pouch though. Not sure I will use the pouch daily. I will use the sunshade every day.
Highly recommended.

Would like to revive this thread. I'm picking up and driving my new Macan cross country next week and would like to bring along a sun shade. It seems there are a few popular options which I summarize below. Now that y'all have tried out the models in this thread for a while, would like your feedback.

X-shade (Jumbo size) $16 on Amazon. Cheap and seems to fold up nicely to a small shape. Will it fit in the under seat compartment??

Pro-tecta-shade: $16 on Amazon. Seems nearly identical to X-Shade.

Covercraft ($58 comes in different colours). Accordion style so not as compact but appears high quality and fits window perfectly. Where do you store it? I have an accordion style shade in my current car and I end up throwing it in the back seat - rather sloppy.

Porsche OEM ($58 from Suncoast - has Porsche logo on exterior facing surface). Similar design to Covercraft.

Thoughts??

Ordered Cover Craft shade some time back. Even though they stated custom made, it does not fit well and leaves big gaps in front of the rear view mirror area. Now it's sitting on the garage shelf as a reserve. I use my old shade, though a tight fit, but it covers better.

I just took delivery of the Covercraft custom fit cover. While I haven't used it yet, I'm not overly impressed. I'd say save the money and get a cheaper one. As for storing it, I paid the extra six bucks and got the bag for it.

It doesn't seem to be of that high quality. Maybe I was expecting too much.

Oh, and they then send you an email touting it's great warranty. Yeah, 90 days. That's a joke.

Gotta disagree w/ my CPF brother here, have owned the CoverCraft for 15 months now, it has held up well, no complaints nor regrets & I store it folded in the passenger seat footwell.

I got one for my SQ5 from Auto Anything.com. It fits well in the Macan, so I just moved it to the Macan when I traded the Audi in on it. It's this one - Intro Tech Automotive Ultimate Reflector Car Sun Shade - Intro Tech Custom Auto Shade for Cars . I've been using it for a couple of years & it works very well & has held up well. It folds up well & since I don't typically have a front seat passenger, I just keep in the footwell of the front seat when it's not in use.

Update on X-Shade. Used ~ 10 months now. Daily. The pouch is a tight fit & the seam on one end is beginning to come apart. (The pouch, not the sunshade itself.)
I emailed to company to ask them to send me a new pouch. They sent me a coupon code for 100% discount (free) for a new Sunshade + pouch set.

Re those who store sunshades in passenger footwell. Isn't the carpet ...dirty? Debris from passenger feet? So, won't you spread that debris all over your car?

When I suggested the floor behind the driver, I meant if you mostly have no one sit there. I frequently (3x/week?) have to at least shake to my driver floor carpet. It constantly gets little pebbles & debris from trees, etc. I would never take my carpet & raise it to chest height & then shake it vigorously, distributing any & all debris all over the Macan interior. Isn't that effectively what happens with a sunshade stored on the carpet? (Unless you rarely have a passenger.)

What is wrong with the passenger map pocket? Easy to reach, keeps shade off the dirty floor?

#103 ·
Icono you asked about the shade becoming dirty from being stored in the pass. footwell, then in turn causing the dash to become soiled or dirty.

Not an issue here as the footwell remains clean or on that rare occasion when it's not, I fold the shade & store it behind either of the front seats in the passenger footwells.

FWIW I'm also aware I could have bought a cheaper sun shade but I subscribe to the buy once, cry once school of thought on most issues. In a $70K+ vehicle I feel the $58. spent on the shade is not a large expenditure in the grand scheme of things.

YMMV certainly applies here as most often is the case.

I chose Heat Shield from Amazon for $40.00. It is custom fit for our Macan. Further, and most importantly, it protects more than the Porsche sun shade which I first tried. Further still, I have a V1 with blend mount (radar detector mounted on the rear view mirror) and the flexible Heat Shield sun shade allows me to bend it around the V1 whereas the Porsche sun shade does not. Lastly, to easily store the Heat Shield, roll it and use the attached velcro strap.

Enjoy your Macan!!
