Stereo volume indicator on PCM?

So, I took delivery on an 18 GTS about a week ago, and I noticed that when I use the knob on the PCM to increase the volume, a bar usually appears across the top of the screen showing how loud the stereo is. I use italics because the volume bar seems to come and go at random times when adjusting the volume and I can't figure out what's causing it to randomly disappear.

I searched the forum and read through the manual, but I can't seem to find an answer. It appears from previous posts that previous PCM versions may not have had the volume bar at all?

Thanks!

Weird. Do you ever notice it disappear on your '18? For example, if you swipe the screen to get to additional presets and then try to use the knob to turn up the volume?

I also noticed that the indicator doesn't appear on the PCM when I use the ball on the left-side of the steering wheel to adjust the volume.

Yes, a firmware update will add this feature. I have a 2017 Boxster S which did not have the volume bar but, following a firmware update recommended by my dealer, it now appears. I also have a 2018 Macan which came with the latest software level and the volume bar.

Another feature that appeared on the Boxster with the software upgrade was the horizontal "wheel" that momentarily replaces the fuel gage when selecting an audio source.

Anyone experience a DELAY in the output of sound from an iPhone as the music source?

In the year + that I've owned my ('15) MT, especially on startup, it seems to take a L O N G
time to get sound - turning the volume knob slowly and waiting a bit.

I tried turning it up quite a bit (ONCE) and got BLASTED - so now I always take it easy til I hear the
music.

...anyway, it is kind of annoying to go through this procedure each time I drive it. Burmester system, if that makes
any difference...
