to answer the OP's question, yes, you can definitely sync your phone to the car via Bluetooth and you'll receive phone calls and can make calls. spotify/Pandora/google play music also works via Bluetooth.
It is very finicky in my opinion. theres a certain order of events that should happen to get the music to start working from when you get into the car.
mine works like this, lets assume everything is off (the car, Bluetooth on your phone, and the music app's are all closed)
1. get in and turn on the engine
2. open the music app that you want to play (spotify, google play, Pandora)
3. turn on Bluetooth on your phone
4. click the "source" button on the Macan to switch over from Tuner to Source.
It's so annoying that sometimes I have to turn off Bluetooth, close the music app, and redo everything to get music playing sometimes. Its a lot to do while you're driving. I try to get it all working while the car is warming up for 1 minute.
