Porsche trademarks GT5 moniker - Possibly for Macan?

Porsche trademarks the GT5 moniker. Any guesses on which model (if any) the GT5 will be for? Most sources are pointing towards either the Panamera or Macan.
Somebody, maybe it was AP, said no GT for the SUVs. GT3 means the homogulated car races in GT3. The GT4 will race in GT4. There is no GT5 racing.

It could be a Panny or 960? But that makes little sense. A 960 would be GT3 WEC racing.

I wouldn't hold my breath about this. Yeah, clickbait.

Would be awesome as an exercise in ultimate performance capability for this chassis. I'd love to see what they'd allow it to accomplish without the politics of its bigger/more expensive/less inherently sporty "ute" sibling at play.

It'd be fun as an ultimate statistical geek out for the Macan. Stripped down, lighter, edgier, etc. Thus it would raise the status of the nameplate. But it just doesn't sound realistic or sensical from Porsche's perspective, as the "GT(numerical)" cars are legit sports car chassis', currently. Also, I don't think Porsche is concerned with the Macan needing to earn "more" dynamic reputation just yet, as it's already crapped on the "SUV" sector there, with just the launch models. Then again, they'd time it for later.

Still, hope that it would become a reality.

Porsche is just planning for the inevitable. With the rising popularity of the sport ute and SUV, the small sports car will soon be extinct.......and with it the extinction of the GT3 and GT4 racing classes.

Soon, a new class will be created. GT5. Large SUVs raced by American drivers that are even larger.
