Now that is weird as my wife mentioned this the other day. My macan shows the Porsche logo first and then Macan after all the time, but her macan apparently does this random. I would be fine only to see the Porsche Logo.

 

I have my Macan for over 2 weeks now and probably turned the car on maybe over 50 times. I only recall seeing the Porsche logo 3 times. All the others only the Macan S logo.

 

The Porsche logo is the software default. The model is the vehicle specific startup logo modification. What you are seeing is a few times times the screen has come of a little faster in the boot sequence. That's my educated guess anyway.

I "think" you get the Porsche logo on a complete reboot. Then you get the vehicle specific screen when the PCM was left in a state not requiring a complete reboot.

 

I have observed that when the Porsche logo is displayed, I get a 5+ Hp boost!

So I keep re-starting the car until I see it.

 

You should have selected the "model delete" option in your configuration, then you would only see the Porsche logo and get the additional HP all the time.

 

I have a work around. Use a fine point Sharpie permanent marker, draw a Porsche logo on the screen, and there you go. Fixed forever.

 

Too funny, I was just thinking about this and am now seeing this thread. I suspect the crest is displayed on first start after an extended shut down.

I asked the SA before my car came if there was any way to leave the logo and Macan S on at all times. I was disappointed to hear his answer. It's the best thing about PCM!

I got the Porsche Crest for a few seconds once then the Macan logo and then it goes to whatever it is I had set before. I agree either Crest would be great as a full time "screen saver" but I guess it's a no go.

Is there a way to set the Macan Logo as the permanent screen saver when other options on PCM are not in use? I searched through all the different manuals and menus to no available. I know there was another thread on this but I couldn't find the answer. Anyone ?

I think the best one is on the steering wheel but we are talking digital here

 

My porsche logo reappears and stays on the screen at triple digit speeds. As it should.

 

PCM: Porsche Badge or Macan outline

The vast majority of the time, when I stick my key in the Macan, an image of the Macan appears on the PCM. But once in a while, I get a color image of the Porsche Badge.

There does not appear to be any rhyme or reason to this. Is my PCM playing a game with me? Anyone have an answer to this smallest of detail?

(Nearing 700 miles, the car is awesome still and getting better).

There is a way to switch up the logos & models on PCM. I wish someone would figure out how as I think it would be neat to pay around with. MY friend did it in his Audi and got the Lambo logo. Unfortunately he doesnt know how to do it via PCM, but he said it CAN be done.

 

Why would you put the Lambo logo on an Audi?

 

Audi owns Lambo and Ducati. I guess the logos are fair game ?

I have a question for anybody out there who knows how to use a Launch 431, to change the logo screen.

So I have a Macan GTS and had to replace the PCM in which I found a used one online out of a Macan S. Does anyone know how to change the startup logo to suit my GTS and not the S using the launch perhaps?

In the PCM…. The MFD shows Macan GTS but the replacement PCM shows Macan S… I need to change this to GTS

 

Pretty sure I saw this when poking around in the instrument cluster., for MFD...never noticed it in PCM.....

 

Yes you can change the type of vehicle on your dashboard through the launch but I’m trying to figure out how to change the PCM to match my vehicle? Surely you can do that through the Launch!

 

I only ever see the porsche logo on my PCM.....and that is once in a while...after deep sleep
