Now, the surprise for me in the email is that PEC is offering me the option of installing Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF. I have not read anything about PEC offering this service anywhere on this board. Is this new, or is it just something that I missed from previous postings? They want me to fill our a form to add the option, and that it will add an additional 2 weeks to our estimated PEC Delivery. I asked my SA about this and he said they don't have that option on the Macan, unlike the 911. Therefore this must be a PEC Atlanta thing and with that he doesn't know the pricing for it. I have replied to the email asking for the price, and I suspect that I'm probably going to pay a premium for it compared to a local installer. I just hope it's not too much more, because we are driving the Macan back to TX, and the PPF would give us a greater peace of mind.
This must be something new that they are offering. When I picked my car up little over a year ago this was not offered, and if it was I would have jumped on it in a skinny minute since I was driving my car home to SC and I was worried about rock chips on the way home. I know others have asked for them to do this, or have contractors come on site to do this at PEC but it was a no go in the past. I’m glad that this is now an option to help protect cars that will be traveling a great distance to get home. I would be interested in how much they would charge people and if the cost is comparable to other shops, and it sucks that it will add another two weeks to your wait to get your new car.

When you do finally get to get your new car at PEC, have a blast! Solis next door is a great hotel to stay at by the way.

The car is at the port in Germany, not the US. Probably Emden or Bremerhaven. I hope, like Mercedes, that Porsche puts the name of the transport on the build sheet. Then, you can track the transatlantic shipment as described in the forums here.

I'm used to waiting. I bought an AMG E63 S and picked it up at the factory in Sindelfingen. Drove it around Germany and Austria for a week.

Chalk looks pretty cool. I'm a thousand miles from Texas so you won't have another one nearby. Until the dealer spec orders one.... I saw it on a 911 and it was pretty awesome. My personality doesn't mesh well with miami blue or lizard green.

nishs: what do you mean by shipping together? Also, are you saying that you're getting the car thru an Atlanta Porsche dealer?

Well the May 29th release date is back in play. So depends on how early you locked in your order you will get it anytime after that. No further update on mine, the last communication I got from PEC Atlanta stated tentative delivery time of early-mid July, with an additional 1-2 weeks on top of that if I'm opting in to install Xpel PPF.

Also, we're not having there Macan shipped home. The wife and I are going to take mini vacation, driving/breaking in :D the new Macan back home to TX with a few stops along the way.

Earlier this afternoon I got an update from my SA letting me know that our Macan just entered production!! With an expected date of build completion on 4/19 and transported to Port of Emden on 4/26. Leaving Port of Emden on 5/17 and expected arrival date in Jacksonville on 06/07. Looks like they just added 1 week after 4/19 completion date for it to be transported to Emden, 3 weeks sitting at port waiting for a ship to leave Germany, and another 3 weeks time for the ship to arrive in Florida. So I'm guessing those dates will move around more than once. Oh man, I'm so excited!!

Thank you wishntoboutside, and yes I came across some of postings about tracking cargo ship. I guess I'll look more into it as it gets closer to that date.

I love your GBM GTS! but I'm sure you get that a lot :D

You heard right DDay. The 2019 Macan expected release day from port is May 29th. So far that doesn't affect us since ours it not scheduled to arrive in FL until a week later. Tentative date, May 7th arrival in Jacksonville.

There is still hope that the May 29th date can be pushed up, if that's the case then you can get your car earlier.

As far as I know, the Columbia Highway has the first S Macans for the US. It just left Halifax and should be in Rhode Island in a day or two. So, buyers with orders in the Northeast will find out pretty soon how long Porsche will be holding cars at the ports before US delivery.

Boy I thought 4 months was a long wait for my Macan S but never the less - believe me the wait is well worn it. I've had mine for 2 yrs now and like you I plan on keeping it for 10 years. You'll enjoy is so much more after waiting a long time . One thing that got me thru was this forum and all the great input one gains while hanging around with a bunch of Porsche guys.

Welcome and Enjoy

V270 Vehicle exit production, and V300 Vehicle completion a day ahead of schedule!!

4/18 vehicle completion
4/26 entry port Emden
5/17 exit port Emden
5/31 entry port Jacksonville (changed from 6/07)

I really hope our Macan don't have to wait 3 whole weeks in Emden waiting for a ship. And does it really take 2 whole weeks for the ship to cross the Atlantic?

1 week to cross the ocean. Then 5 days to Jax. Then, it enters a black box at the Port. You know its whereabouts better when it's on the boat than after it hits the ground in the US.
