Hi everyone, I wanted to make formal introduction even though I had posted here a few times within the last week.

New to the forum and new to Porsche period! A Honda/Acura enthusiast for all my life, and we're making a jump outside the Honda/Acura brand for the very first time. This 2019 Macan S is going to be our first vehicle with an engine thats bigger than a 4 cylinder. So exciting!! Also, we like to keep our cars forever (10+ years) until they break down too much or get into an accident (knock on wood) My wife and I just submitted our final build (PKPRSH18) with Park Place Porsche, in Grapevine, TX. The experience we had so far have been outstanding. From the first time I stepped into the PP Porsche showroom in December to casually inquire and test drive the Macan, to bringing the wife over for an extended test drive for lunch, and until today when we just submitted our final build sheet to Germany.

I wanted to say thanks to the members here that helped us out finalizing our options. From suggestions to constructive criticisms, I appreciate them all. We picked a March build, so we have another 4 weeks to find out if we can get a definitive date about our Atlanta PEC delivery. If not then we gonna cancel Atlanta :( and go with regular local delivery. Both Feb/March build Macan expected arrival date at port is 5/31. What we don't know at the moment is when they're going to be released by the DOT, since these are the first batch of Macan 2019s and the paperwork for them is still pending. We did not get that much discount, so far they put in their internal "repeat buyer" code and gave us a $1500 discount. Although this number can go up from now till the completion of our car, and our sales guy will let us know and update the discount accordingly.

I'll keep you guys updated with anything new that comes our way. ;)

I have a partial red interior which is great but I'm not a big fan of roof rails. You can get wheel centre's in colour after delivery.
- I saw your interior pictures! Exactly like we ordered! Thank you.
- Roof rails are a must for us since we go skiing/snowboarding at least once a year.
- Wifey somehow don't like the colored crest option on the center of the turbo design wheels.

I agree, 1500 off is a joke, especially on a heavily optioned car. Do yourself a favor and give Dave at Porsche Delaware a call and see what he can do.

Regarding possible delays in delivery: being a new model to USA, they have to pass EPA certification. The government shutdown delayed things by 5 weeks, including approving some USA-made, USA-brand pickup trucks! If there's another government shutdown next week, it's going to get worse regarding certification of new cars, with potentially much greater delays. I'm ordering a 2019 Macan also, so am not pleased about this.

That said, I think that the 2019 models are very superior to the 2018 models, with all the improvements, including the LED standard headlights and the new computer screen. I will wait.

Enjoy the S but definitely get a bigger discount. I receved nearly 7% off on my S back when MSRP was it on the then "new Macan".

Finally made the decision to move forward with our build amid the delay. Even though we are not in a rush to get into a new vehicle, waiting till November is quite excessive, plus we already have our December skiing trip to Breckenridge planned and booked. Therefore, with much reluctance, I removed the Atlanta PEC delivery :crying:, so we can get the car without any additional delay and ready for our end of the year trip. Our current and local dealer is bumping our discount to 4%, so I had to refuse a 5% offer from a non-local dealer since I would like to stay local, and reward the sales associate that have been working with us from the start. In the mean time, our build code has changed to PK27TCQ0. Now for the 8 months wait....and still hoping for any chance they get released before Nov.

@Reanard, are you saying that you will only get your order in November and it will be a 2019 model? Not the same, but getting a new 2019 Cayenne Turbo is a 6 months wait per my dealer.

Yes, from my understanding it usually takes around 4 months for a Macan order to be completed from order to delivery? But with the 2019 Macan S DoT approval delay, all Macan S build now will be completed as scheduled but are not able to be released until November.

I'm very familiar with Park Place Grapevine and know a few guys there. I ordered and purchased mine from Park Place Dallas just over a year ago before Grapevine opened. I got 5% off.

Great configuration. May want to consider the cargo management system as it's a relative bargain for what comes with it. You get a double sided rear cargo mat, a cargo area divider screen, and 2 cargo area organizer bars.

Order is locked in as of today!! We added Atlanta PEC Delivery back to the order. We should get an update on the build completion date, port arrival, and PEC delivery date within the next 2 weeks.

Ordered it in November 2018. I got the first allocation from the dealer. "Original sales" date was June 2019, then November 2019, now I'm told end of May 2019. They said it was going into production next week; but, I don't trust that until it actually is in port. The Cayenne went through the same shifting of US delivery dates when they did a midway redesign. The engines are already in the Pana and Cayenne so I doubt it's EPA issues. It's more than likely that China is receiving most of the new allocations because they are now Porsche's biggest customer.

The 2019 GTS and Turbo aren't even on the radar yet. So, I went overboard on this build.

We'll see if I get it by June or not.

I would be interested to see what ETA's other 2019 buyers are being told by their dealers.

Wow, you must be excited!! As for me, I don't know what would I do knowing that your car is just there sitting at port, but you still gotta wait till after May 29th for delivery. The struggle!!

The current update on mine is that I finally received an email from PEC Atlanta with an estimated delivery of "early to mid-July." They also warned me in the email that even "Though we are expecting EPA Certification in May. there is a potential this could be delayed." So, whatever the real reason for delay is, I guess Porsche is sticking to their gun with the EPA reasoning.

Now, the surprise for me in the email is that PEC is offering me the option of installing Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF. I have not read anything about PEC offering this service anywhere on this board. Is this new, or is it just something that I missed from previous postings? They want me to fill out a form to add the option, and that it will add an additional 2 weeks to our estimated PEC Delivery. I asked my SA about this and he said they don't have that option on the Macan, unlike the 911. Therefore this must be a PEC Atlanta thing and with that he doesn't know the pricing for it. I have replied to the email asking for the price, and I suspect that I'm probably going to pay a premium for it compared to a local installer. I just hope it's not too much more, because we are driving the Macan back to TX, and the PPF would give us a greater peace of mind.

This must be something new that they are offering. When I picked my car up little over a year ago this was not offered, and if it was I would have jumped on it in a skinny minute since I was driving my car home to SC and I was worried about rock chips on the way home. I know others have asked for them to do this, or have contractors come on site to do this at PEC but it was a no go in the past. I’m glad that this is now an option to help protect cars that will be traveling a great distance to get home. I would be interested in how much they would charge people and if the cost is comparable to other shops, and it sucks that it will add another two weeks to your wait to get your new car.

When you do finally get to get your new car at PEC, have a blast! Solis next door is a great hotel to stay at by the way.

The car is at the port in Germany, not the US. Probably Emden or Bremerhaven. I hope, like Mercedes, that Porsche puts the name of the transport on the build sheet. Then, you can track the transatlantic shipment as described in the forums here.

I'm used to waiting. I bought an AMG E63 S and picked it up at the factory in Sindelfingen. Drove it around Germany and Austria for a week.

Chalk looks pretty cool. I'm a thousand miles from Texas so you won't have another one nearby. Until the dealer spec orders one.... I saw it on a 911 and it was pretty awesome. My personality doesn't mesh well with miami blue or lizard green.

Well the May 29th release date is back in play. So depends on how early you locked in your order you will get it anytime after that. No further update on mine, the last communication I got from PEC Atlanta stated tentative delivery time of early-mid July, with an additional 1-2 weeks on top of that if I'm opting in to install Xpel PPF.

Also, we're not having there Macan shipped home. The wife and I are going to take mini vacation, driving/breaking in :D the new Macan back home to TX with a few stops along the way.

Earlier this afternoon I got an update from my SA letting me know that our Macan just entered production!! With an expected date of build completion on 4/19 and transported to Port of Emden on 4/26. Leaving Port of Emden on 5/17 and expected arrival date in Jacksonville on 06/07. Looks like they just added 1 week after 4/19 completion date for it to be transported to Emden, 3 weeks sitting at port waiting for a ship to leave Germany, and another 3 weeks time for the ship to arrive in Florida. So I'm guessing those dates will move around more than once. Oh man, I'm so excited!!
