Hi guys and gals,

I received a Launch X431 pro 5 and I royally messed up with it. I thought it backed up my coding, and I went to a screen that said it was going to reset everything to default. Like an idiot I clicked ok! I have been trying to get the settings back for days. I am having a issue with my headlights. The instrument cluster has the PDLS error light lit. My low beams work, but I can't turn on my high beams (when I pull the lever the instrument cluster icon illuminates, but the high beams never go on) I noticed that the corner lights don't turn on and the low beams don't move when I turn the wheel driving. I have a 2016 Macan with PDLS

Would someone please be so kind and post their coding settings for the Front-end electronics>Codiertabelle>Codiertabelle_0>exterior lighting and Codiertabelle_1? Or if you can think of any other seting it would be under? When I click on the health report I get error: C12025 Databus - no message from right headlight control unit.

There has to be a setting that is incorrect, because everything was working fine beforehand. I checked the headlight connection and fuses.

Thank you so much for your help!

I remember somewhere in there was a choice for a calibration. My problem wasn't the same as yours but similar and after the calibration, all worked again.

I am not really sure what restoring to default actually does in the X431. I have a email out to them asking if it restore to a "default generic" settings. Or does it actually use the cars build specs and uses those defaults. Poking through the coding values for the 10000th time. I noticed that all the settings seemed correct for how my car is optioned.

yeah...

My father used to go in and edit PC configuration files, totally whacking his PC - then he'd call me up and ask me to try and
undo the damage he'd inflicted on his PC.

You can possibly imagine how difficult this was trying to accomplish over the telephone, telling him exactly everything to type, with
his adding typos along the way.

Eventually, after occasional calls, and finally seeing the difficulty of all of this, he started taking his PC to a local repair shop - where the
owner strongly advised him to stop messing with the PC's configuration files - since he was not - repeat, not - technical.

Anyone can buy these automotive diagnostic tools.

Unfortunately.

We have the "freedom" to buy these tools - and use them. There's no test required, nor enforcement of qualification to use these tools - which
can, quite literally BRICK our Macans.

What did Orwell say?

"Freedom is slavery"

It's akin to walking a tightrope without a net.

This is why service techs at dealerships undergo extensive training...

Good luck!
