I am wondering if it is mainly the car weight that is contributing to these poor fuel consumption numbers. Anyone here know how much the stock wheel weight numbers? Perhaps being an off road car they made the wheels exa strong so with the extra strength in them for off road they were made much heavier. I reckon that if they were quite heavy that would contribute to poor fuel economy numbers. They do feel heavy to me on the GTS Macan with the 21' wheels.

A recent drive to the beach on flat Florida 2-lane roads in Comfort mode yielded amazing gas mileage. Check it out. :)

I did 16750 km (10410 M) until today with my Macan S, mainly on comfort mode, normal driving. My total average consumption is 12.8 l per 100 km or 18.4 MPG. Outside the cities I reach an average of 10.5 l per 100 km or 22.5 MPG. In the city, the average consumption is 16 l per 100 km or 14,8 MPG. I should say that I live in Istanbul, a city with quite very heavy traffic. Once, my consumption (record) in the city, bumper to bumper, exceeded 24 l per 100 km or 9,8 MPG.

It's basically a combination of the engine high power/torque and overall car weight. The Macan is an incredibly powerful machine. It takes a lot of energy to achieve such a high power/torque on such a heavy load over a period of time. The more energy you consume, the more energy you need in terms of burning fuel. With Today's cars already reaching the limits of energy transfer efficiency, the more power you use, the more energy you need and that's fuel consumption. No way out of it, other than driving the car in more efficient way (low speed and acceleration).

You're supposed to switch the parking brake off :)
So, that's what that screeching sound is and the burning smell !!!!

Anyway, still better than my previous daily driver but track prep'ed STi where I got 25L/100km normal driving and 50L/100km on the track. Boy, do I miss my days at Sepang !!!! No decent tracks back home in Canada.

My recent road trip to Canada and back to NYC yields 21.5mpg with the wife and I and light luggage. Driving mostly in comfort mode at 60-80mph. When in town driving it dips to 18mpg. Once back to NYC it average 13.5mpg. When in heavy traffic I shift to Sport+ mode to keep the gear low to prevent lugging the engine (use to manual trans). But when traffic open up you're immediately on the power to go.

My wife and I recently drove round trip from Florida to the north Georgia mountains to visit friends for a weekend. Mostly flat Interstate driving in a combination of comfort and sport mode yielded better than expected gas mileage.

Sitting at 22.4 mpg for our 2017 Macan S....granted due to med probs I was not driving her for the past couple of months but pretty stable over all on the MPG.

All of the drives are over 40 miles when taking to and from work and 95% highway, normal mode 90% of the time until I hit the on/off ramps or at a light for a few miles for "fun" and then go to Sport +

I track both the the computer and "pen and paper" backed up with Fuelio app.

Avg speed on the to and from work is 77 mph so trust me it is not sitting idle....granted these are mostly highway miles but better than the Jeep Liberty my wife and I had for years.

We "decided" to take the Macan to Dunkin' Donuts today for breakfast...with a 30 min stop at Lowes....Kept the engine running for the duration and still managed to get 22.1 mpg out of it...

Trying to let it just sit for a bit on a "Sunday Drive" before football today.

We did engage Sport + but not "Launch Control"....still haven't had an appropriate opportunity to do this just yet.....LOL....saving it for track days in the spring!

Just my 2 cents ..... hope this helps

PS....when the wife drives it on an 80 mile round trip to work it .... she did that when I was recovering from surgery, she managed to get on the computer 26 MPG.....I suppose she doesn't push it like it do .....LOL.....

EDIT...we are running the All Season Pirelli tires that were delivered on shipment so your mileage and habits may change the miles per gallon you get. 19" are what we are running and going to 18" for the winter in a week or two. BTW....my wife also ONLY drives in her "Key Setup" so her default is "Normal" mode 100% of the time...not certain if it matters.

Do the Fuelio results correlate with the car's computer? I've never touched anything near 26 - even with all highway driving. My Tahoe gets better mileage on the open road.
