License Plate Frames

I thought I'd start a thread on license plate frame options. I think one or two people have pictures of their Macans with license frames installed. But, I don't know if they got a genuine Porsche, or aftermarket, or which one. For example I can't find one on the Porsche site that is specifically listed for the Macan. Will one of Porsche's generic frames that just says "Porsche" work? Do people know of good quality frames that say nothing? Maybe just a simple chrome or black frame will do. I just want to move beyond the bare license plate screwed to the car and am wondering what others have found.

Approve of the dog and the Shelby. My buddy has his dash signed by Caroll.

On my Macan I have low profile cf as it matches the side blades (no front plate installed). It’s installed on an inexpensive base from Amazon that has pads to eliminate any plate rattle. On my wife’s car we just did a simple silicone wrap frame and those are a great no frills option.

I usually don't care if the dealer puts their plates on my car as long as it's not too obnoxious, but I ended up putting these on my car. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YZFM2FQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Plain black silicone, inexpensive, thin so it doesn't obscure much of the plate & looks good. I left the dealer plates on my wife's car and will probably let them put them on the new her new Cayenne but I will keep the silicone for my new Macan.

I put one of these covers on my recently acquired Macan S. It is understated and inexpensive, but very thin. Since the license plate is secured to the bumper with only the two top screws, the bottom edge can still flap a little. The rubber should keep the plate from rattling though.

FWIW, I took a different route. My state does not use front plates, but I had holes to contend with from front plate holder... I decided to throw a European front license plate on my 2017 GTS. I was able to find the front plate holder at Suncoast (look up 95BSPLATE and you will find multiple options). There are many places online that can create a new plate or source an expired one. I was able to source the official stickers that were in effect in 2017, as a subtle touch. I personally like the look and thinks this presents as unique.

Saw that on a "beater" car in my train commuter lot a few years ago and was thinking of putting that on my Macan or Cayenne but never did. I go with the simple silicone one on mine and wife has the simple black one from the dealer which their name is relatively small.

for license plates -- I've always used silicon license plate frames.
1 - frame gets dirty, wash it off
2 - cannot scratch or scratch the actual rear valance that it's attached to
3 - light weight / plyable / etc.
4 - because it's not metal, if you have a custom system, it doesn't rattle and make your car sound like it's on a budget
5 - it's relatively cheap
