Inconsistent double "beeps" when locking

Hello,

I cannot explain why sometimes the car would beep twice when i'm locking the car and other times it just locks without any sounds.

When it locks without the two beeps, I would unlock then relock it, and sometimes it would beep twice, other times it won't. Then I'd try third time un/relocking it and it would beep.

Gremlin?

Just read that if you touch the proximity monitor on the handle once to lock it should beep twice . If for some reason you touch it twice consecutively, it locks but may or may not beep. Two "touches " on the door handle are for locking the car with people or pets still in the vehicle .

Maybe you pushed twice ?

I'm having the same thing happen but as @WHT TGR said I must be touching the door handle more than once I seem to have a hard time finding the sweet spot on the handle for locking

You have flipped the alarm-on and the alarm-off states.

You can also change the state back by pressing the button by the drivers door pillar.

The manual is a bit vague in this area. It also seams that locking with the key either one or two quick clicks (think it is two) also flips the state, so if the alarm was on (two chirps) the alarm now remains off until you press the driver side button again. Need to double check...

Still haven't figured out the reason behind the random double beeping.

First I thought it was because windows weren't fully closed or the doors weren't completely shut. Nope.

I hate this because as I'm walking away from my vehicle i don't hear the double beeps and i'm there standing like a jackass trying to lock the car. And the range on this remote is like the shortest i've ever seen in any car.

Along with beeps that are or aren't there, has anyone else noticed that the cadence of the beeps can vary?

Sometimes it's a very brisk "chirp-chirp", other times it's more of a "chirp-pause-chirp"... not always the same. Just another of the many features that make it unique...

Like @WHT TGR says, you are inadvertently "double-tapping and activating the door lock without the Alarm.

@Albert Kim @ejvette @hw128 You guys are making this too hard on yourselves trying to find the "sweet spot". DON'T put your fingers inside the handle at all. Just touch the outside of the handle with the back of your hand. That ALWAYS works for me.

I too have the same issue. I know I am not touching the handle twice but what seems to be the case is you must touch the indent in the handle only. If you touch the handle other than the direct sensor location the car will lock but no audio beep will happen. Frustrating as you are not sure the car is armed.
