Sorry if I missed a thread about this device, but I would like to let you know what I have been able to do with it so far.

I recently did my own Brakes, and oil change and was able to reset the service "light" for the oil change.

Besides the OBD scanning the menu has the cabability to do the following.

Oil lamp reset It asks you for a date when you go to reset I imagine the ECU automatically does a year from the date you enter.
Brake Reset ( the first option in the brake reset gave me an error but I was able to move the parking brake to the install position using the second option)
ETCS Reset ( I don't know what this is so I didnt touch it) I think it resets the PDK calibration or whatever
Steering Angle reset ( same as above).
DPF reset. (don't know what this does).

I purchased the device off of Amazon for $150.00 , but it's available in many places. Make sure that you download the latest software onto the card ( it's a microSD card.).

I recently started another company so I don't have a lot of time to go through everything, but I wanted to report back that it did work for the Oil change reset, and the brakes.

Durametric only supports up to 2015 according to my direct phone call with them. Looks like icasoft PORV2 will work including 18s according to my e mail from them and people here who stated so.
To be clear, I am speaking about service re sets and codes. It s pretty much the only thing I used durametric for in the past.

Durametric told me the same thing, but yet it does work on my MY16 Turbo. I would not be at all surprised it works on an MY18, although of course I would not guarantee it.

If it s the brake retraction you are worried about this can be done in another way. That s another story.
I just bought the PORV II and plugged it into my 2018. Seems that it was ready to do whatever functions possible but I have not played with it past that yet.

I d be interested in the answers to your questions, subscribed.

Thanks guys. Not sure what the problem is, but I can’t get thru. I guess it’s a problem on my end. I’ll keep trying. BTW - do you know which Porsche model selection I need to make, since Macan is not there. Thx
The first time I used it Macan was missing for me too. I set ignition to on/off a few times and the unit refreshed and Macan was then available to select.

So, I wrote them and asked the question about whether this covers the '18 Macan S:

Hello William,

Nice day.
Thanks for your email.

POR V2.0/POR V1.0 can work on 2018 Porsche Macan.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

ThanksSincerely,
Barnett Davies,

the problem = I'm thinking iCarsoft.com is not the same URL as icarsoft.com.

NOTE: the point of a couple of posts above that have successfully reached the website is the fact that all LOWERCASE characters were used!

I can't even get my browser to accept iCarsoft.com - it auto corrects it to icarsoft.com - and reached the site...

arnieosp, Have you used this unit yet, and if so, does it do what it was advertised to do? I ask this because I purchased an iCarsoft POR V2 unit last spring intending to use it to register a new battery in my 2015 Macan S, something it was advertised to do. When I got it set up, it was unable to do so. Their tech rep finally admitted that it would not, but that they "were working on it". They had no set date when this advertised feature would actually be realized. I returned it. Sorry, but I have no use for something sold with "vapor ware".

I've used it before on the 987 and 981. I haven't tried on the Macan yet. We do offer them and also have the V1.0's in-stock as well if you're looking for a lighter version.

Jon, will either one of these register a new battery on a '16 Turbo? I read all 120 posts above and one person says "yes" and another "no".

Recommend you read the posts in the following thread:

iCarsoft POR II will not register a battery, nor will the Durametric...

Of course it doesn't work on the one they are selling the most of lol.

I'm unsure if any of the VW/Audi stuff would work on the Macan.

The Macan uses a completely different DME/ECU from the rest of the Porsche family so I can see why the development would be behind. I'd have to imagine at some point, someone will figure it out beyond the Porsche tools.

I just used mine yesterday after changing the oil/filter at 20K miles. I initially reset the oil service but found it was asking for an intermediate service reset. Punched that up and all is good. Gotta love it. At 30K, I'll be changing the plugs myself as well.

Mine's too new (the Macan). I didn't have a reason to investigate.

#140 ·
Will do. Give me until later tonight.

A late follow up. It does not seem that you can. The iCarsoft is a much more simplistic tool. 1 ON and 0 OFF logic. It does not possess the level of intelligence to register a battery. Now I can say you can run diagnostics on the battery by looking at voltage. But I saw no option to register a battery. You'll need one of the PWIS thingies... If I decide to keep this Macan, I might drop the coin, but not at this time.

There's a used Autel MS906 for sale on Ebay for $799 that we know will do the job. But that's still more than most of us can make sense of:

#143 ·
I might be wrong. This is a cut&paste from a thread:

"I have an update. I emailed both Autel and iCarsoft customer service. I asked about the 2019 / 2020, but assume the answers would be similar for earlier years as well.
Autel: The Autel MD808 Pro (available here for $233) does support Battery Management System, and allows you to register the new battery on a Macan. This is per Andrew Libert @ Autel
iCarsoft: The older iCarsoft Por II does not support BMS. However, the iCarSoft V2.0 (available for $146 here) does allow you to register the new battery on a Macan. This is per Barnett Davies @ iCarSoft.

So, it sounds like there are at least 2 reasonably-priced tools which allow you to reset the battery on a Macan for DIY people (like me). :) If anyone on this forum ever does it successfully (or tries it unsuccessfully), please add to this thread!"

Sorry bout that. Guess it does...

IIRC we eventually found out neither of these actually work on a Macan.
