I have done it to reset the oil change about a year ago. First you to download newer software as suggested by the maker. The rest is really straight forward follow the instruction. Use the oil service reset. I have read here that other members have use it to retract the rear parking brake when working on the rear brakes.

Thanks - BUT, the subject of this thread, as I posted, has to do specifically with the interim service reset.

I can see the oil service reset as an option in the diagnostic tool menu - and I would prefer not to reset that now,
since my Macan is not due for an oil service for another few thousand miles.

I am asking forum members if anyone has experience using the iCarSoft POR II for an interim service reset.

...also, it appears that a software upgrade for the tool requires the use of a PC - and not a Mac. Has anyone been able to upgrade
using a Mac?

Thx!

You may have to borrow some's PC or go to the public library. Bring the SD card from the unit with you, along with an adapter for the larger size, and find a PC that has a reader for it.

I updated with a PC at work - Mac/Chromebook at home which will not work unless you want to put Windows on your mac (a few ways to do that). I've reset the 10k oil service a couple of times and the 20k intermediate service as well (I assume that's what you mean by interim). At 37k miles, there are no service reminders that currently pop up.

...just installed VirtualBox on the Mac - we'll see how that goes.

Thx!

I just used it to reset my oil, but I also am very sure I saw an option in the 3 minutes I had it connected to the car that u can reset the interim and other service reminder too (forgot what its called)

I got the Windows VM all set up and had to tweak the SSL/TLS settings just a bit to access the iCarSoft site.
All I need to do now is get the SD to mini-SD adapter and I should be all set to get the latest s/w rev.

Re: intermediate vs. interim - the message displayed in the instrument cluster on startup uses the word: interim.

Thx to all for the input!

I cleared the "interim" service notice with mine...No problem.

Can you please post the sequence of how you found and cleared the interim service reminder on the POR II?

Edit: I just downloaded the Por II software update, and didn't see a "clear service reminder" icon, (what is "SAS"?) but maybe needs to be hooked up to the OBD II port in the car ...

PSEE, you said "I've searched and have not been able to find anyone having submitted a post that they
successfully reset the interim service now warning with their iCarSoft II diagnostic tool.

So here you go! I was able to clear the service reminder successfully. Once the Por II is connected to the car, choose Porsche, and the sequence I followed see in the attached photos

Thanks Rapido1 !

It's unfortunate iCarSoft does not provide a flow chart of the diagnostic tool. I stopped at Oil Lamp Reset
because I did not want to clear & reset the vehicle for its upcoming oil service - I only wanted to clear the
(interim, as the Macan's display shows) Intermediate Maintenance reminder - and following your flow chart
looks as though it'll get me there.

Thx!
