The error came back this morning so I purchased a code reader this afternoon. Same exact message. I just reset/deleted code and went for a spirited drive. No performance issues.

I have had two different dealerships assess the issue but have not found a solution. I will discuss with my indy mechanic when I get the car serviced again - I need to replace the serpentine belt and pulleys due to age. I now have 71,XXX miles after completing a trip to Key West from the Mid-Atlantic.

I’ve seen oil change and I’ve seen the engine symbol but this popped up last night.

It says driving permitted so is this just a message to be cleared by icarsoft tool?

Based on your mileage, it appears you are under factory warranty. Do not erase any codes, yet. Take it to your Porsche dealer & have them tell you exactly what the code is & have them fix it.

If you have an OBD-II code reader, you can check it yourself to see if what the dealer tells you matches what you found out yourself.

I have had the same issue but the dealer cant find anything wrong. If I restart the car then that warning light goes away and my gas cap is on tight. Very frustrating. I have about 40,000 miles

The problem started during stop-and-go traffic when the car was sputtering and trying to stall on taking off and the AWD fault and PSM faults came on. We stopped and restarted the car and the faults went away. Then when I got home and pulled into the garage, again the car sputtered and wanted to die. That's when the Engine Control fault occurred and never went away. We put a fresh full tank of gas into it with no change. Looking back, it frequently sputtered and wanted to die when taking off from a stop, not giving it gas at a low speed, or rolling into the garage.

The dealer has had the car for 3 days and says the issue is an O2 sensor and should have it fixed today. No mention of the PSM or AWD until I asked. Advisor said those faults were related to the Engine Control fault.

I am really concerned since the car is almost out of warranty. Thoughts?

My thought is to start reading some of the lengthy aftermarket warranty threads (some of which can only be purchased before the factory warranty expires).

Well I took it to the dealer and they “said” my hose was damaged somehow which gave a engine code fault. Of course it was t covered under warranty so $1050 later code is cleared. Smh

What hose? Damaged...how?
Did you, or anyone, do work on your car especially near that hose?

Depending on your answers to the above questions, you may have a reason to complain to PCNA.

Hoses, sometimes, are defective & burst.

They said it looked like rodent got to it but I live in gated community in Florida and lived here 16 years never once saw any rodents.
To me it looked like it rubbed against something and wore out.
 
Anyone has seen a bad gas error code? Just returned from a long 4000+ m trip over the western US. Got “driving permitted” engine check light in Montana, then couple days later the engine light disappeared. Then the problem reappeared in Southern Utah and stayed with me all the way back home. Took the car to the dealer and he said it was bad gas (WP95). I always refilled at major stations like Exxon, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, etc.

So, let's go to the drop down menu and preview the anticipated dealer experience: 1st return......couldn't find anything, cleared the code, you should be good to go. 2nd return.....couldn't find anything, reflashed the ECU in "the abundance of caution", you should be good to go. 3rd return......it's an O2 sensor, and since Oxygen is produced by God, this is an Act of God, and not covered by your warranty.

I'd like to save myself from this tribal ritual. Any advice on how to unload this car ??? Or should I just sell my house and move near the dealer ??

I wouldn’t rush to offload the car. Nearly every new vehicle I got in the past 10 years had a minor issue in the first couple months, fixed and run issue free for the next 3 years of ownership. I am surprised sensors are not covered under warranty?

Annoying on a 3 week old car, I am sure. However, rather then "anticipating" a negative outcome scenario as you have laid out, perhaps go into your dealer with a positive mindset and they may in turn do the same in attempting to solve the issue for you. Could easily be something they rectify for you with little to no hassle.
 
Well... apparently his new S has plus or minus 1000 miles on it. But seriously... is there any point to this thread? This is his first post? :rolleyes:

This situation has become stranger......I contacted Service today. Twice put on infinite hold. 3rd time got through and explained my situation. Told we could schedule an appointment, and while I waited they could code the car and explain results to me. Told them I wasn't interested in waiting for service, just wanted to drop my car off, and they could call me when it was repaired. Told no, had to schedule an appointment just to drop off. I'm new to this game. Just don't understand why I need an appointment to park my car and slide the keys across the counter.

Had an unusual 2nd problem come up today. When I come to a stop, the info center switches to overhead view and pings me for a proximity, even when there's nothing around....
