My center driver's console (where the speedometer is) displays the correct time but the time and date on my PCM is incorrect and I cant figure out how to change it. Anyone know how to do this and why the two times aren't synced?

Exactly how much difference is there between the times on the MFD and the PCM? Do you have navigation? And I was not aware that date displayed on the PCM (although I never looked hard to see if it could be).

I don't recall how to do this, but you need to tell the car to use Satellite time.

It's in the now-infamous owner's manual, but that only works if he has navigation, which is why I asked him that.

But I don't think that would explain why the time or date on the MFD is different than the time/date on the PCM.

I had this "mismatched times" occur also when I first picked up my car back in June ... looks like I mentioned it on page 9 of the "Early Problems with your Macan" thread.

Its been resolved, but I can't recall how/what I did. My guess is that I went through the controls and made sure that the time was set correctly (including year) ... might have purposefully bumped the minute counter just to make sure that the time setting did change.

I have the same problem. I don't have infotainment/Navi.

The time is off by like 8 hrs.

My 'fix' was to change the time on PCM to display temperature.

I don't need 3 locations telling me the time :)

That said, I'm going to ask on my first service.

I fixed mine recently, and figured out that when I set the year correctly in the mfd, the pcm sync'd up with the mfd. Setting the time alone didn't do it.

Interesting. I have the nav system and the vehicle just acquires the correct date and time from the GPS satellites, and all you have to do is turn DST on and off at the appropriate times. Works like a charm. Folks who trash "Infotainment" should take note. >:D

That's a given fact for nav/GPS. A $100 GPS unit does it from day 1.

I don't see the need to spend $3k to save myself the one-time step of setting the clock...lol

Looking for any and all justifications.
40GB Hard Drive + Jukebox.

That's all the justification I needed. :D

PCM/NAV/Infotainment is actually the feature I'm most looking forward to experiencing just because it's so widely criticized on here. I'm still holding out hope that it isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I dont have NAV. The year is also incorrect. The only way I know to change date is through the driver's instrument cluster. I couldnt figure a way of changing through PCM. Will check if it can be done through instrument cluster.

You can also get a better version of that for well under $100. :D

I figured it out. You have to change to the correct year through drivers console and everything will be kosher.

I can understand that you didn't think Infotainment was worth it @ $3k.

...but as someone who regularly touts the aesthetics of the Macan as a primary concern I'm shocked that you think slapping a 3rd party gizmo into the immaculate interior of the Macan as an acceptable solution!?!?!?

You never cease to confuse me with your seemingly constant contradictions of your own sentiments!??!?

Lol. Well a harddrive fits away hidden from sight in the center console. I'm currently gonna use a little 16 Gig thumbdrive, but I imagine an iPod might work even better. And the Smartphone has to be somewhere inside anyway, and currently it's clanging around my cupholders so I probably need a placeholder anyway (better than on the passenger seat).

Gotcha - in the context of the NAV/PCM discussion I was thinking that you were referring to a Garmin type device that would be mounted inside the cabin.

Oh. Yeah I'm not crazy about Garmin's, though I'd be open to a really elegant solution/implementation. Radar detectors are what I seriously can't stand. They still after all this time still look like something straight out of the 90's, IMO.

Smartphones are the way to go for a portable device. I didn't think I liked the way a "dock" for them looked, but some really seamless and nice ones have come out, etc.
