Can you elaborate?
Cobb has a reputation of stealing or copying others tunes like APR or GIAC. I am not an expert, but I would say most cobb tunes are basic performance tunes but when you really start changing things other tuners take the cobb tunes to other levels. BGM motorsports comes to mind on this.

Those who have good experiences with the Cobb tuners, go for it! I've had great performance increases with all of my 911's. Those who take the Cobb units, "hyper-tweak" and, well, increase the risk of blowing something up, go for that too. I've done both.

My 911's and the GTS I have now are already freaking fast. I'm really just looking to restore the "de-tune" they did with my 2020 GTS to the twin turbo spec engine under my hood. But after talking with Cobb this morning, he said they've been seeing 475 or more HP. And there is significant increase in torque as well. Ordered mine today! We'll see... 😉

Only good experiences here. I've had Cobb tunes- Stage 1 for my Golf R, and before that, Stage 2 for my Subaru (which made gobs of smooth power).

No love for the 2022 MYs?
Plus is it really as easy as “taking it off” before bringing you to dealership? They should be able to tell that a system had been reflagged recently right?

I'm wondering the same. This was definitely true for VW. Even if you flashed back to stock the dealer could tell, if they looked- you would get flagged with a TD1 code.

I put a Cobb on my ‘20 WRX and the off the shelf tune was better that the uneven stock tune, but was not much better and the DAM was not good. I ended up going to Dotson Tuning in Fort Worth and he did a great job giving it a ”reliable” tune which is what I was after (not a high performance tune that would stress the head gasket).

The minute I drove away it put a smile on my face - she was finally a happy car with smooth power delivery.

I don’t know if this would be a similar case with a Macan, but I imagine a custom tune on a dyno might be preferred to the generic tune that comes on the Access Port. Elevation, humidity, and available fuel are factors that are individual to the end user.

Just my two cents.

Even if you reflashed it to stock, I would have to assume that if the dealership looked, they could see a flag for last system flash or similar. It’s then they can ask “why” it was reflashed.

Received the new access port today. On install I got a vehicle not supported message. Hooked up to my computer and checked the firmware and its up to date. I sent a message to Cobb Support. It could be an operator error but I think I did everything correctly. Hopefully I’ll hear back Monday.

Subscribed, I've been hounding APR and Flat 6 about this who both have mentioned that a flash option was in the works. It looks like Cobb beat them to it, but for +17whp and +17lb/ft on the S model, I'm not sure it's worth it. Hopefully this is a first iteration to more substantial gains.

Please post your results, interested in the results. Any other mods?
I am curious what my results will be with my MBRP exhaust + flat6 CAI on my ‘21 GTS.

Update I took one for the team. My car was built in the fall of 2020 and I took delivery late December 2020. Evidently my ECU was one that Cobb didn’t break the code on. I sent my ECU to them and they downloaded whatever they needed. This took three days (all UPS time) but I’m back on the road today. They said they will let me know when the new firmware is available. I’ll pass along when I get it. Cobb customer support was very responsive.

Uh oh. I took delivery of my GTS in December as well. What model do you have?
Mine was just delivered today...

it’s in my signature 21 GTS. You’ll know quick, it will fail to install. This is on the top of my ECU 86M 907 309 K
Great, thank you. Starting the install right now...

Did yours fail right away? I'm already at 20%
