Do all of these aftermarket headlights need to be coded as I was told by a seller there completely plug and play with no coding, from beyond visual
There is a latest aftermarket headlight release that will not require coding for high beam so fully functional plug and play

However it will still trigger a dash error which will need coding via piwis

Thanks for the reply
I Was told by the vender that there will be no coding required, if the error does come is there any other way of coding out other than piwis, porsche is very annoying with coding and such compared to bmw, you can code from apps like bimmercode, bimmerlink, the copy of a piwis Chinese version is still very expensive compared. Cheers

Well I personally have the headlights with hi beam function plug and play. But it does have a dash error

The only waybto remove it is to have the seller's technician online use desk to control piwis while it's connected to your car. Or if he gives instructions

That I haven't done on mine

Band-aid solution using PIWIS III available for Alibaba headlights to eliminate instrument cluster error messages while keeping full headlight functionality:
  • Deactivated the”headlight range regulation defective” error message via coding under instrument cluster.
  • Recalibrated headlights following PIWIS procedure under headlight central
  • Deactivated AFS warning lamp under instrument cluster.
No more warning errors visible on dash and aftermarket headlights fully function. Note; the headlights technically are not communicating with the instrument cluster (fault code 29000 stored), however, I am satisfied with the results given they are aftermarket headlights/modules. OEM would be able to communicate and if I ever decide to revert back it’s simple reactivation of the messages I coded out.

Hopefully this helps other folks with Alibaba/chinese headlights.
I purchased OEM headlights 2023 model and
I have this headlight central error when trying to code/teach headlights to go from Xenon to LED PDSL+ Matrix 2023…. I managed to code left and right headlights and control modules but get stuck at headlight central (variant 004) my car is 2017 Macan. Any help on this would be amazing.

Does your high beam work though?

So original 2023 pdls was plug and play on a 2017 macan?
