CarPlay retrofit with Joyeauto - questions / help

I did not research if it has DSP or not. I suspect it's the same as joyauto technically though.

I ask because the DSP on this unit may help improve audio as it allows lots of adjustment on the audio.

I also like the fact with this new one you can use built in microphone and no need for external. Plus external supplied one looks like oem so for people without mics they can fit in same spot as factory

I’m having second thoughts here, after doing more research on this. It’s seems you still need that external box. And based on the wire harnesses I’m seeing, it doesnt look that different from what I already have. The integration would not be different. You most likely be required to use AUX, although not sure, as I’m not seeing the AUX dongle - that may be an indication that audio goes in some other way... I’m not willing to use AUX for audio input. Is inherently of less quality.

The wire harnesses needed look almost identical…

There is a box…. This lead me to believe that Is the same label of integration to other systems. Granted, improved, but if is not solving the issues I need, then I’ll be using it exactly as I’m using the one I have…. But, the lack of the AUX dongle is really throwing me off here. It could really mean AUX is not used.

Not sure about this. I still need to think about it. In the end, the only way to know for sure is buying it and testing it. But going through the effort to replace the one I have is a consideration…

It would be great to have access to installation and setup instructions.

see photo… is that dummy 1/8” plug you need to connect in the AUX input to make audio work. It seems this dongle fools the system into thinking there is something connected to the AUX plug.

Cool. Yes, please… send me the manual when you get it. I’m now more comfortable pulling the trigger on this.
