Can anyone please tell me if there's an issue with the Black paint vs Jet Black Metallic when it come to chips in the paint? I saw a review on Youtube and they stated that the Black paint chips easily and you should opt for the Premium Jet Black Metallic because it holds up much better. Can anyone that has a Black and/or Jet Black Metallic Macan tell me if they are having any paint issues. I'm looking to purchase a Black Macan but if there's an paint issue then will most likely get the Jet Black Metallic. Sorry if this is repost regarding the issue but didn't see it on the site. Any input and info on the subject is very much appreciated. Thanks...

I have JBM I wouldn’t have the straight black. Solid black very prone to showing swirled more than the metallic does. I ordered my car from the factory and as noted Porsche paint is soft. I’ve had the car for over 4 years now but fresh off the boat it’s soft. The paint does harden over time all blacks will show chips no escaping that even with expel.

I would never have a solid black car again did that before. The metallic paint is worth the upgrade due to less maintenance.

I've had both colors in various Porsches. As far as chips, nicks and scratches go I haven't had a problem with either color. The Jet Black is probably easier to take care of. Jet black doesn't show swirls as easily as black does.

I have normal black on the Macan and the metallic one on the 911. No chips on either.

The metallic one is slightly prettier (can see the flakes up close) and a bit shinier when clean, but my experience is that the metallic black is not dirt-resistant at all, compared to the normal black. It shows up immediately - basically one rain and I need to wash the car again. While the normal black is much, much more resilient.

If I were to buy black again, I would get the normal black for my next Macan. For metallic colors, I'd try a grey or something else.

Here in Switzerland it does rain quite a bit, and unpredictably so. If I were to live in a drier climate, I'd perhaps choose differently.

Of course, Miami blue is also an option :D
