Hello Everyone,

After 8 wonderful years with my 2015 Jet Black Macan S, I have decided to take the plunge and order a new Macan before the EV world takes over. I have been informed that allocation locked in for a May build.

I test drove the GTS and instantly fell in love with the finishings and the power. While nothing looks better than a clean Jet Black Macan, Montreal winters are too challenging to keep it clean. I have have decided to go with Volcano Grey Matallic.

Hey is my build, The Porsche Code.

Would love your comments on colour and boxes I clicked on.

Looking forward to reading your comments.

LGTM and certainly looks like you know what you want.

As a VGM Macan owner, the only thing I'd add is that I agree keeping a dark-colored car clean is in general challenging, and I don't think VGM and JBM are that much different from this perspective. VGM is lighter but not by a lot. Maybe consider something lighter if this is a real concern.

Either way, good luck and share pictures when you can!

Hi Peter, good to see some gen 1 owners still around and shopping for the latest. Same here with a 2016 (delivered in 2015) and attempting to order a 2023.
Solid build, just curious the omission of PTV+, the rationale would be to max out on the performance options especially on the GTS. I have it on our 2016 Macan and 2020 Cayenne and would not leave this out, but we are in the area with world record number of round abouts, so it is working for us hundreds of times a day going around and to a totally false guess that it wears out the brakes more, we found the opposite to be true, because you do not need to hit all of your brakes to slow down before getting into a roundabout as it uses all kinds of inputs to brake your inside rear wheel and keep the turn tight, so just a thought.

I got issues -

1) You chose the GTS package without leather and didnt put ventilated seats

2) You bought the GTS package in LEATHER !!!! Why ? It should be illegal !! Just kidding .. sort of . You realize its the ONLY GTS package of all Porsches that allow this . Cayenne , Panamera, 911 718 , heck even the Taycan (which has a fake Turbo) all have only race tex ONLY . I would suggest the GT steering wheel in leather though .
The reality is its a fake GTS package in "all leather" . Get a real one !! I have it on both my 911 and Macan . It still has leather but the race tex is placed in the appropriate place for grip. Its also much cooler in summer , doesn't crease , and makes a GTS feel like a GTS .

3) Race Tex roof liner is beautiful above the sandpaper roof liner (not needed but nice ).

4) Not necessary but I prefer body color side blades . I think you are trying to match the roof rails but its not needed.

5) Do you need the roof rails ? Are you planning to put things on the roof ? If so then you need to get them. They cant be retrofit . If not I'd pass . My last Macan Turbo (bought off the lot) had them. Not a fan of them.

The car is beautiful BTW !!

Roof rails kill the lines of the SUV in my opinion. The side blades in body color look really nice. I had a Volcano Grey loaner last week and agree it is a great looking color. I agree with you on the leather and not the Alacantara. I had a 2012 Cayman R was a daily driver that was covered I that stuff and it matted like crazy and collected a ton of dust, I sneezing like crazy lol. Alcantara does look as a headliner though. I also traded in a 2016 S but got a 2023 S. The difference in my opinion between 2023 and 2016 is a major difference. First thing you are going to notice is the tranny shifts a lot better is no clunky, also the handling is tighter and the ride is smoother. Good luck with the new ride you are going to love it

Race tex is not Alcântara. Porsche made their own and we branded it under a different name.

That being said I had 50,000 miles on my 2017 911 GTS. It was parked outdoors, and when I traded the car it was not even one crease in the Alcântara. I also had 42,000 miles in my 2017 GTS macan . All other macans were full leather except my new one.

Whether my car was leather or race tex or Alcântara the key thing is to have the car, professionally detailed by someone who knows how to care for these things, or to learn how to do it oneself. If you let any of them go, and that even includes leather, it will get ruined.

Looks great, but I'm biased (on my 3rd VG). Saw a GTS exactly like your build @ a dealership in FL a few months ago - I loved the interior with the red trim, but the upcharge wasn't worth it to me (I stuck with the basic black leather pkg). Here's a pic of mine to whet your appetite :)

If I were doing it again I'd go for the Mango.

Beautiful build. My comments:

1. I also prefer the Macan, especially a GTS without the roof rails. The rails, while functional, take away the sleeker sports SUV look.
2. Agree with the RaceTex headliner. It finishes off the interior and makes the cockpit, especially on a GTS feel more special and premium.
3.You optioned the Matrix headlights. Cool and now legal in Canada, but honestly, the LED’s with PDLS are truly amazing.
4. I would put the money from the roof rails, headlights into the 21” satin platinum GT wheels. They look amazing and would further expose the beautiful red GTS brake calipers.
5. If you keep the interior leather, adding back the ventilated seats is a no-brainer.

Whatever you decide, this will be a stunning build spec. Congrats!

Pete, build what you want and ignore the "experts." You were lucky to have a GTS available to test drive. That is uncommon where I live. I imagine the wait time will be difficult (and in my case extremely inaccurate), eh?
