Fuel tank capacity - refill volume (gal) - 19.8

 

Really good size. That is small but very nice attribute. :nerd:

 

Some confusion here. On the US site it is listed as 17.2 on one set of technical specifications and as 19.8 on another. This is for the S. The Turbo is listed as 19.8. In Europe the larger capacity is optional. I would prefer the larger tank.

 

By any chance, is that the difference in US vs Imperial gallons?

To have two part numbers on such a minor difference is financially stupid of Porsche to do....

US tech specs for S in configurator says 19.8, that's what I'm hoping for...

 

There are 2 fuel tank sizes shown (in various places) for the Macan - the smaller is 65 liters, the larger is 75 liters.


In the U.S., the 75 liter tank is standard. In some other markets, the 65 L tank is standard and the 75 L is optional.


75 liters is exactly 19.82 U.S. gallons.

To add to the confusion there's actually 3 fuel tank sizes depending on the location:
S: 65ltr
S Diesel: 70ltr
Turbo: 75ltr

I noticed the optional 75ltr tank on the S in Australia is now the default fuel tank for the S if you look at the updated configurator.

 

Now that some folks have received their Macan (lucky you!) ... Anyone knows what the actual fuel tank size is for the 'S' model ? In Canada ...

Pretty sure its 65L for the Macan S, I wanted the 75L but it disappeared off of the configurator and the tech sheet says its 65L.

The tech specs page is wrong though. I confirmed with my SA earlier this week that in the US, both the S and Turbo have 19.8 gallon tanks.

 

The actual skinny is 19.8 with 2.6 of that in reserve, which would give the 17.2 figure./ data is from official macan brochure and I also asked my salesman about that...

 

Let's forget about specs, brochures and literature ... This has already been debated and conclusion was uncertain ...

I know some of us have gotten their Macan ... Has anyone of them taken their fuel level low enough and fill it up after, to confirm this with certainty ?

Display showed 48 miles remaining. Filled up with 15.8 gallons. You figure it from there.

 

Did the Reserve indicator come on with 48 miles remaining? If it did, my guess is 17.2 gal total capacity.

 

Still have to finish my first tank of gas so I'll go with the data in the manual, 19.8 with 2.6 reserve.

 

FWIW my US S says 19.8 gal on both the window sticker and owners manual.

 

The owner's manual I wouldn't trust so much but, I would assume that if the door sticker reads 19.8 gal, it most likely is ...

So that's 75 liters for us metric people ... Pretty descent, although It'll look more expensive to fill up. At least we won't be filling it up as often ...

that one says for the S is 65L, where did you see 75L?

 

I specifically confirmed this with my SA in May when I placed my order.

"Any word on the tank size for Canadian Macan S?"

His response was:

"It has a 75 l tank and there is no option for a larger tank."

I ordered Macan S (Porsche Oakville, Ontario CAN). Strange if they were to drop the tank size? Maybe different size option in other markets...

 

True, but if you go to Macan - build your own - Macan S - technical specifications link (below price), scroll down to capacities, it says 75L.


Same 'ol same 'ol - lots of discrepancies in the online info.

 

Oh you're right it does say 75L when you go through the configurator.
anyway mine was delivered on the 15th, when I use up the tank of gas and fill up I'll confirm!

filled up today 1/8 tank (right when it hit the red bars) so estimated 100km left, it was 58L of gas to fill up.
Going to assume it is a 75L tank
