Hi,

I am considering trading my Cayman Base for CPO Macan Turbo or GTS. I tested both of them today, and I really liked the Turbo. The one which I tested is 2015 model with 37k miles. There were no any other CPO turbo available at my dealer. This is configuration info for the Turbo:

BASE Macan Turbo 0 USD
0P9 Sport Exhaust System including Sport Tailpipes in Black 0 USD
1BK Air Suspension incl. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) 0 USD
1NP Wheel Center Caps with Colored Porsche Crest 0 USD
5TL Piano Black Interior Package 0 USD
7X8 ParkAssist (Front and Rear) with Reversing Camera 0 USD
A1 Black 0 USD
G1D Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) 0 USD
PJ4 Premium Package Plus 0 USD
PP8 Comfort Lighting Package 0 USD
Q1J Adaptive Sport Seats (18-way) incl. Memory Package 0 USD
QJ4 Window Trim in Black (High-Gloss) 0 USD
QR5 Sport Chrono Package 0 USD
UN1 Online Services 0 USD
UX7 Tire Valve in Black 0 USD
V95 21" Sport Classic Wheels in Black 0 USD
VF Leather Package in Black 0 USD

I like the car, but I cannot convince myself to 2015 model with 37k miles (even though my Cayman is also 2015). This turbo is listed at 61k. Should I wait for newer model? :)

Thank you,
John

It is a nicely spec'd Turbo. Looks like whoever ordered it, read this forum.

With the air suspension, you could lower the car and take advantage of the improved handling.

It would be interesting to know whether it's an early 2015MY build, or if it was built close to the end of that model year when they had worked out some of the early nuisance bugs. My guess is it's a later build, since PSE wasn't available until later. Decoding the VIN would answer that question.

Probably a fair amount of room for negotiation at that price, and you'd want to know if it has a clean carfax.

The newer cars have the updated PCM, and the GTS was introduced with the 2017 model year, but that's about it.

I like the spec . I don't like the miles . the age,or the price . The fact taht you drive only 5K miles makes this even harder because the dreaded 50K mile deprecation number is far enough away to think 2 years . But at 61K I'd pass . It's still a lot of money .

I have said it several times . CPO pricing particularly for the Macan is just not great.

Two different Porsche dealers offered me $47-48k to trade in my Macan Turbo. CPO costs the dealer about $2500 so they probably have about $50k in that car (plus any maintenance items such as tires, brakes, etc that the dealer had to do). You should be able to buy for under $60k and less if the only thing they did was cpo it. Other than some of the early problems with the 2015 Macans (all of which have been fixed on my car without any additional issues) there is no reason to not buy a CPO 2015. Additionally, I would take a CPO 2015 turbo over a newer GTS

Thank you for your responses. What should I look for as far as the service is concerned considering the mileage? I am looking at all items not covered by the CPO warranty and that would require to be paid by me (like brakes, 40k service, tire quality, etc.). I would talk to the dealer and make that a part of the deal if I decide to purchase the car.

Tires, brakes and maintenance are your cost. I think CPO requires certain tire & brake specs or will be replaced to be certified. Michelins tend to wear a little better than Pirelli or Continental. 40k service is expensive (recently had it done), so I would ask them to do it now, although, the more you ask the dealer to include, the less they will negotiate on price

Hi,

I revisited my local dealer again today to look one more time at the condition of that car as well as the service history. Overall the interior is super clean – no major issues. The exterior – no any major problems, but it is black:) I asked the dealer for service history. They performed the following a few weeks ago (I reviewed service records):

- 40k service
- Brake flush
- Replace two front tires
- Replace two rear tires
- Smog inspection
- Safety inspection and tire pressure

Brake pad remaining life is 80% front and 90% back.

Now I am a bit tempted… What do you think? I am not sure how much room there is to negotiate the price since the total service cost was close to $3,700. Any info is greatly appreciated.

How long has it been on the lot? That may help you judge whether you can expect to get some off. In coming months there are likely to be alot of 2015 Turbos coming off lease (like mine, for instance--it'll be turned in in 1-2 months) since the 2015 Turbo really started being available in reasonable numbers about 3 years ago. Not sure what your time period is but if you can afford to wait it won't be the only one around. And you might not have to get black (unless that's what you want).

Seems well-optioned, and my car (built 12/2014, now at 34k miles) has always run flawlessly and feels like it is barely broken in, so I wouldn't worry too much about 37k miles.
