if you have a 2022+ macan, and your centre console is with the haptic buttons and if you dont have all the haptic functinos activated and would like to see a full button activation. you can do it within PIWIS or AUTEL or MU CAR.

After:

to do this:
in PIWIS or AUTEL or MU Car:

Go into Sytems and go to Air Conditioning:

If you go into Tastes, you will see options for haptic buttons to light up.

you assign the non assigned tastes.. to corresponding missing button functions.

I assigned:
Lift= air suspension
AGA = PSE
M = unknown.. i assigned this to Taste 6... but it didnt light up anything.. I imagine it means manual for something.. but what .. no clue.

If you go to the right side "Rechts"

I assigned Ionisator and PLA. which lit up the Ion button and Parking Assist buttons.

hope this helps and if anyone figures out what M does.. woudl love to know ahah.

Me again. Im searching for option to switch off Side/Marking lights. My front bumper is from EU spec so I have now error of front marking light on desk.
Which option need to be changed?
In simulation mode I found: Coding value: Aussenbelechtung Seitenmarkierungsleuchten verbaut -> when I change only this option it will be OK or is there anything more?
there is an option under exterior lights, and look for sidemarker lights. you can disable it completely. i found it last week and its completely disabled now

I’ve heard it is possible to adjust the engine coolant temperature sensor values shown on the MFD from the “dummy” sensor values to the actual ones. I looked through the hidden codes but cannot find this.

Has anyone successfully encoded this?

Coolant Temperature Characteristic Curve
I have modified the coolant temperature characteristic curve in my Macan a few months back maybe a year ago), and just did it in my Cayman as well. It is interesting how Porsche is modifying the actual values you see, probably to decrease variability in the display and avoid having unnecessary calls from customers that don’t know what’s going on. But I have to think that for a 718 or 911, having modified display temp values is completely unnecessary. I wasn’t surprised to see this in my Macan, fine, I just modified it.

The location for the characteristic curve values is here…

Instrument Cluster: Coolant temperature characteristic curve

You will see all real and displayed values (8 for each). See table below (in C):

Font Number Pattern Circle Rectangle

I plotted this table, shown below, so that you can see the behavior.

Slope Rectangle Plot Parallel Font

If you follow the green line (displayed values in cluster), there is a long period of time where you will see a constant temperature, when in reality the temperature is higher. Then, once out of that range, it will shoot up really quick to catch up with real temperature value (blue line)… that may not give much response time if your car is overheating. That orange zone is what you would need to pay attention to.

This curve was designed for the temperature to remain steady during normal operation mode, but it will in fact introduce hysteresis in the values you are seeing.

Displaying actual temperature values makes common sense.

To display actual values in the instrument cluster, copy the respective X value into the Y value.

I recommend you write down all values first (so that you can have them as backup), then change all Y values.

I also changed the bargraph range to display the full temperature range starting at 36C… default is 60C.

Code:
Instrument cluster: Bargraph settings: Bargraph settings-coolant temperature bargraph start = 36 {default = 60}

You are a national treasure, Sir! Thank you!!

I want to open this thread by thanking everyone who has put the effort and knowledge into the Encodable Features thread. This forum is only valuable because of contributors like yourselves - thank you very much!

I have a few questions I'd like to open with:

1. I have successfully added PDLS+ (using PIWIS3 on my Macan S) all seems to work fine. Is there any height calibrations I should perform to ensure optimal configuration?

2. Intersection lighting - I noticed when I used PIWIS3 for the PDLS+ upgrade that it also disabled intersection lighting. If I enable this again (using either my X431 or PIWIS) will that also cause any issues with the PDLS+? My assumption is that this WOULD be enabled, just not in the US market and PIWIS did ask what market I was in during coding. I have manually enabled intersection lighting with my X431, but havent driven at night to see if this will work/cause issues.

3. Corner lighting - Could someone please clarify the various options pertaining to "static" corner lighting? Is this simply saying "When you turn the wheel, it will illuminate"? Does this interfere with intersection lighting? I assume this uses the same lamps that intersection lighting does.
3a. Is there static and dynamic options and can they be enabled in coding simultaneously?

4. Headlamps pointing into turns - Is this feature pretty subtle? I cannot tell if this is actually functioning on my Macan. Are there parameters to set the sensitivity of this? Is there a codable setting to enable/disable this?

5. Please see the image below. I want to ensure I have the utmost understanding to make sure I am not asking infuriating questions here to respect everyones time. My understanding is as follows: A -This is the "corner lightinng" and also potentially the Intersection lighing bulb which appears to be a standard halogen. B- these are the four Daylight Running LEDs. C - this appears to be the main beam, maybe both the "low" and "high" beam that is just aimed according to needs. D - I do not recall ever seeing this illuminated on my Macan, can someone provide clarification here?

5. Reference image

1. Auto High beam works with front camera, if there are no errors about calibration then it should be ok
2. If I remember correctly Intersection lighting was introduced in first restyle, not sure if it can be enabled on first gen, I suppose it uses PCM maps to understand where intersection is
4. For me it's noticeable, but only on really dark road, probably xenon lens turning angle is not very big
5. Everything is correct - C is used for both high and low beam, D is just a dummy lens

So, i have been reading way to many of these posts :) On the OTOFIX, which model is suggested? I found a video saying "Online Programming" is only on their PRO or MAX versions, is that needed for doing the Cluster Lights, Turn Signal Flashes and a few other cosmetic things?
Thanks
Rob

Hello! I've been able to do most anything I was wanting to do using an Otofix D1 Pro. Its a very nice tool.

Thanks, can't really justify $1000 to do a few mods. Still not sure what the "Online Programming" gets you?

New topic, did anybody activate the ionizer in the A/C cluster?

Could activate the ionizer module in the A/C module config and in right buttons w Launch, even though I didn't order it.
It shows HW V00 and SW V000, but doesn't throw any fault messages when activated.
No active measurement values changing during testing. No different smell when activated...

  • Is it installed or not?
  • Did anybody spot it in the Macan?
  • High voltage cabling and control/supply cables existant when not ordered?

I saw that you can enable this as well. I assumed additional hardware would be needed though. I can't imagine they would just install it on all cars and then only charge to "activate" it

Probably true, I found this HV Generator Module (Ionizer; 4N0963459E). It is used in several Porsche and Audi models and should also be installed in the Macan, but is completely unknown in the corresponding Macan parts catalog and repair manual as well as in web catalogs like ilcats...same for (2?) HV-cables to connect to the A/C air box ionizer electrodes...maybe it comes in a bundle with the A/C air box?

...The tempting thing is the low price of this module, starting from 50-80 bucks...

Yes, I activated those features as well... I don’t see much use to it, but it’s there and what the heck... I activated them. The G-Force meter is actually very cool though.

Also the automatic mirror retract, when pressing lock on the remote.

Now that my Macan is out of warranty, I started making a few modifications, and having fun with it.

I can't seem to activate this feature with the launch x431. Can you help? Have a 2016 Macan Turbo.

No wonder, found out that the ionisator was only offered since production year 2019. This is also the reason for missing Macan parts for it in the web, since all public parts lists' based offerings I found are based 2018 latest...time for an update, anybody have a newer one for the forum???

I believe it requires an extra console button - I would love to retrofit this if you have any luck.
