Probably everyone knows this, but when inside sideview mirror housing I found puddle lights. Leave lighting switch on auto and voila!
I did some testing on how this works today, given that I have Mirror Retract “enabled”. As stated, it only works when switch is set in “Auto”. Here are the results.

When you have Mirror Retract “disabled”, these under mirror lights will activate when you turn the car off and open the door. They will stay on as long as the courtesy lights are on, even when you close your car with your remote (activating the car alarm). They will also turn on when you open your car with the key fob.

When you have the Mirror Retract “enabled”, these lights will activate when you turn the car off and open the door. They will stay on as long as the courtesy lights are on, but, here is where the difference lies… they will turn off immediately if you close your car with your remote and mirrors retract. They will not turn on when mirrors are retracted, therefore, when you open your car with the key fob, they won’t come on since mirrors are retracted.

This is a trade-off, and you’ll have to make a decision on what you like best…. I’ll have to make a decision on that…

If only there was a way to “unretract” the mirrors automatically when you open the car with the key fob, that would be the best compromise…

@Teddis, to your question, they don’t turn on as you approach the car.

Anyone knows how to get to the Nav and legal disclaimers on X431 ? thx
It's in PCM. The spreadsheet says:
VW Coding Value Textual-Bit field (4)-byte_23_Initial DisclaimerOffFor older models with PCM3, disable initial disclaimer
VW Coding Value Textual-Bit field (4)-byte_23_Legal DisclaimerOffFor older models with PCM3, disable navigation disclaimer

I did search on disclaimer....and legal...no go.....hmmm Who added that one ??
I have 3.1
Just to follow up. I poked around some areas on rennlist. I was bored. We had a fair amount of lightning and thunder yesterday. No one seems to have found this for the Macan, nor the 958 Cayenne's (which should have similar coding options).

I had PM with @sterod , it was he who added it...and was able to do this sometime ago on an older Macan....DEF 3.1
He cant remember where exactly those lines are located......I have searched with my unit, no luck....

I'm guessing the text of the item has changed over time, in terms of what the x431 displays. You're best bet, which will be time consuming, is to plow though each section in PCM and see if anything makes sense. I wonder what the German wording would be?

Apologies for a naive question, the X431; this scan tool comes up as rather cheap on EBay, & looks like it wouldnt do vehicle function coding.
Please confirm details for the X431 in discuission so i can get on the same page as you. Tx

I took a look today with my x431. I found a more than 15 in PCM with the word “disclaimer“. Two of them matched the wording in the spreadsheet (the first two entries when searching on that word). Granted, I have a Gen II Macan, so that might be the difference.
