Have bought a new car Macan, and I heard a friend say to brush some Porsche hidden functions, using the Porsche engineers version of the computer brush out, which a friend can help me brush out, computer engineer, who can brush out, please contact me, and I will thank you to the way you like.

So after reading the last couple of pages, I crawled under my 2022 S and found what look like electronic valves attached to the outer exhaust pipes. I'm assuming this means PSE is mechanically there and I just need to enable it via coding?

@Sammy Which Autel unit are you using? I may need to buy one just to do this. I was thinking of retrofitting exhaust but this is just awesome news that it seems to be there but just not turned on :)

When enabling sport mode the valve opens up. PSE is a different muffler system I believe with a second valve too. With Piwis you can at least enable the button to just open the exhaust valve without putting the car in sport mode

Sorry for posting this, but I felt people should know.

If you try to renew your Launch subscription via "Auto Softwares" (on WhatsApp), be aware the he ripped me off. Took the money and ran. I'm an idiot for trusting him, and he's a jerk.

Caveat Emptor
(Mods - if I am violating the rules, my apologies and feel free to delete this)

RE Performance Display, I figured I would dig in myself using my Boxster which has the display enabled as part of Sport Chrono. What I discovered is that inside the Instrument Cluster section (in the X431), there is a Performance and Torque Indication section, that is essentially the graphing data points for the display. What I determined:
  • Initial settings were all over the place and had no logical pattern for mine (see before pics)
  • N1 – N21 are RPMs, from 0 – 10,000 in 500 RPM increments, and N1 = 0 rpm, N2 = 500 rpm, N3 = 1,000 rpm etc. Also, the used portion of the mapping range corresponds to the Tach RPM limit, and finally, a value of 255 = ignore this entry
  • Using my Boxster as a reference, I determined each data point is the HP or Torque at that RPM, entered as a whole number as a percentage of Max HP or Torque – I found some data here that helped.
  • The Economical map range describes the green chart area for best fuel economy, and RPM is the 5 data points you can choose. Each Y# Max and Y# Min is also entered as a percentage of max HP and should be less than the graph percentage (meaning if Power N5=2,000 RPM and pct of max power is 40% the eco display for 2,000 RPM, which in this case is Y3 Max, should be less, say 20% of max power). I am just guessing on the levels, but I figured I'd play around with the eco thing for fun.
  • The Over boost range is the same concept but includes a range 2 for 2 extra RPM items., but I turned that to “No” as it is not needed as I don’t believe these cars run over boost in stock form
  • Performance and Torque indication--PT1 damping for display damping (both displays) – the original value was set to 2.55 s[econds] where the Boxster is set to 0.1 s, which may explain why I thought it was not working (in addition to the wonky chart ranges set).
One fun fact is that if you have the Cluster screen set to the item you’re changing (e.g. set it to Power when changing power values) you will see the chart change as you write each data point. When I was done, I tweaked a couple of data points to make the chart look smoother on the dash display.

Pictures are original and changed data points for each section, wife confirmed "the little orange ball was moving", so I am assuming this is good to go :ROFLMAO:

great work on this. though am I correct in understanding that you "manually" mapped the power curve and then the orange "ball" will now accurately follow along the curve during acceleration?

There is a separate set of data points for overboost, yes.

And yes, I had to figure the percent of total and remap the graph with N# settings

However, I took the car out tonight and the marker moves with the rpm but not vertically, so I still have work to do it seems

Hello, all. I just purchased a 2020 Macan base, and I would like to adjust a few settings. For instance, I would like the instrument cluster light to stay on all the time since I think it is occasionally too dark to read. Also, I'd like to set the rear light bar so it is permanenly on. I traded a Q5 to buy this car, and in the Q5 you could use a dongle called an OBDEleven to change numerous settings, such as the gear number dispaly, scandanavian lighting, hatch lift delay, etc. You could even go into given modules and do long coding to change other settings. My question is, is there a scan tool that is able to do these kind of modifications? Or any garage that is willing to do them (I am currently in the Cleveland area but live in Colorado.)

Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!

Just an update for all. I have spoken to Autel (really good after sales support) they have told me that the speed setting should be available for the hba. They are going to add it to the next update for the vehicle. They have confirmed it is available and is in “front end electronics” “extended lighting”.

Also i have managed to code the following handy things:
Boot close from d/s front door button
Boot close from fob
Boot re-lock after opening
Handbrake auto engage when key is removed

how did you get the trunk (boot) to close via fob?

also mine already closed from the front door button (just have to hold it down)

In rear lid, there is an option “close via fob” then enable “touch to close” (this will be hold the button) or “one-touch to close” (this will be a single button press). But first you must enable “acoustic close for fob”. The fob coding will fail unless the acoustic is enabled first. I think this is a safety feature. It will beep while closing. Same for the button in the drivers door, both options need to be enabled. All options are in the rear lid.

Right there, hiding in plain sight. I'll hopefully be trying this soon (gonna be a few days, though). Can't find anything about the HBA in the Front End Electronics (in PIWIS), though. Other speeds are in there, but none of them are set to 60kph, none mention HBA. They only mention things like "Turning" and "Static" (which is likely static cornerlight lights).

Thats the one! You also need “comfort close” enabled and also the “acoustic close via fob” enabled for it to work.
Autel have told me the hba will be added on the next porsche update, so its a waiting game atm, but they will send me a update when this is done as they have logged a request on my device which is currently pending, should change to “completed” when done.

Curious if the HBA has been updated? Don't mean to bother but it's been 2 and a half months. Thank you!
So im not sure as I no longer use launch however I have found a hack to enable this. In autel (not sure if others can do this but they should) I do not do an auto vin read, instead I do a manual selection and select the older Macan year. I then go into coding and it shows up with the options. I enabled this and it coded, have yet to try it out but the coding was successful so should be working. If you are doing this I would suggest only coding this option and not anything else as I do not know the consequences of coding other features while on the older Macan type. I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem but I will hold no responsibility if something does.

Do you think these are the "acoustic close via fob" settings (see below), or are the acoustic and comfort close settings in a different module (not rear lid)?

Also - can you get them to provide any more details on the HBA settings? Don't piss them off asking a bunch of questions just for us.

@Santirx, Do you have the hatch close beep disabled already ? Maybe it needs to be reverted, first ?

I recall there were were 4 or entries needed to kill the close beep.
They are all active. That was one mod I never did. I like the “beep”…🤫

My next venture is speed sign display, i have enabled this in the instrument cluster, with both menus, also in front end electronics and in the media system and front camera. I believe the only option i am missing now is in gateway to fully enable it. But it may be that the front camera needs calibration.
the menu in assistant system is grey’d out and the scope menu says it has a fault. So im guessing im missing one more coding option to enable it.
Will keep digging and report back when i find out what it is.

audi forum was very helpful in finding the coding options, the coding values are exactly the same, only different is the modules in which they are located.

Greetings. I just purchased my 2020 Macan base and as part of the deal I traded in my 2018 Audi Q5. In the Q5, I could code many options with the aid of a dongle called OBDEleven. I realize that there is no simple bi-directional scanner offered for Porsche. Pity.. however, I would like to do at least two things. One, I would like to code such that my instrument cluster illumination stays on all the time since I have trouble seeing it in bright sunlight. Two, I would like to have the rear tail light bar illuminated all the time regardless of headlight setting. Is there a way to do this coding, and, if so, what would be the right scan tool to purchase. Thank you in advance.

Hello,

With PIWIS 3 I changed the option (manual coding in production mode) : Traffic Sign Recognition from OFF to ON.
Because I have not this option and thought it would be easy to activate it as I already have the front camera.

Then I got an error on the Front Camera : fault code B200500 suArmExtFlashDatasetCorruptFailure

I tried to do automatic coding to put setting back to stock but it failed. Also removing this error failed.
I guess I will need to flash the firmware in the camera but I don't have the file.

Thanks for helping me:cry:

I think I miss a .pdx file for front camera coding.
So if anyone can look if he as this file I appreciate!

in PiwisApps / PIDT / PIDT / Pidt / workspace / vehicle-platform / cajun / flash-data / flash-data
There must be a .pdx file which contains "7PP980653".
Or just do a search on your laptop.
Thanks!

Is there a way to code the hatch to only open from the fob with a long press? I’ve opened the hatch accidentally way too many times when I dare to go by feel.

My solution was to remove the rubber cover off of the remote and trim the rubber "stalk" under the cover that pushes on the microswitch. Now it takes a harder press on the remote to open the hatch....and that's a good thing.
