Have bought a new car Macan, and I heard a friend say to brush some Porsche hidden functions, using the Porsche engineers version of the computer brush out, which a friend can help me brush out, computer engineer, who can brush out, please contact me, and I will thank you to the way you like.

Hey David,
I would not do this at delivery. Here is how it will go :)
You will ask, SA looks at you like you are from Mars, then advises they cannot, and goes on a potential warranty rant :)

These changes are made with devices in “Development” mode…..the dealer does not have access to this.

Best suggestion is to buy one, and help your self. Fairly straight forward, and you can tweak away to your hearts content, AND, add them back if the dealer wacks any changes on subsequent visits ( likely )

Maybe I haven't read enough, or perhaps I've read too much, but I am still confused about all the different "computers" and updates done to them that you all use and recommend so all these various settings can be done or reset after some service. It appears some folks are looking to register their new battery while others are concerned with resetting oil change and brake changes. Now I see so many other settings that can be changed by some devices and not others.

Is the PIWIS unit the one to rule all the various settings/resettings or is there a new option for a '23 Macan that is just as good (does just as many things) but more reasonably priced?

2020 base

I've been using my launch and been able to change a few things:

1 - Turned on "teardrop" for front wipers - this allows for 1 extra wipe about 5 seconds after the last wipe after you use the washer fluids) - this helps get rid of the drips.
2 - disabled the annoying beep of rear lid when opening or closing

Failed at:
1 - enabling intersection lighting. When I did this, I kept getting a headlight fault when starting the car and disabling it didn't help. I had to go back in and re calibrate the lights to get the fault to clear. It must be tied to something I do not have on my car

Anyone know...

1 - Is there is a way to have high beam assist automatically come on by default and not have to press light bar forward once? Also wondering if I can reduce the speed it come on. Seems to come on at 38mph - I'd like to reduce that to 30.
2 - Is there a way to turn off seat belt chime warning?

Intersection lighting requires NAV, I believe, as that's how it knows you're approaching an intersection.

I found the seat chimes and they are now off but I looked all over for where to edit the HBA on/off speeds and could not find them. If anyone knows exactly where that is, I'll be very indebted to you. The street I live on is black as pitch and I drive slow so as not to hit deer and would really like the HBA to come onat lower speeds. I realize I can do it manually but would like to edit the speed to come on at 20 instead of 38.

Hi,
just received a Launch x431 Pros Mini V3.0 and it worked, once, then after regular shutdown and new start, black screen, no charging LED illuminated any more.
- Anybody any idea for reset or your opinion?
There is only the on/off button on this device...maybe it´s really defective...

Thx

You have to hold the button down for a long time to get it to turn on, or at least I do. Like 10 seconds or so.

...Found mine in the (german) bay, but shipped it back today after long discussions with the seller. Don´t know what to think about these far east offerings though, mine was announced as new, but had a sticker on the outer box, suggesting it was repaired...and failed again...in addition, the seller tried several times to make personal contact outside of the bay´s communication, what could have caused loss of buyer protection...let´s see, if I get the money back.

Update: Got the money back, but the seller kept 49% for no specific reason. The german bay added the missing rest for refund after complaining, but only on goodwill basis.
Had also a more in-depth look on the various bay offerings for this unit. They all ship from Frankfurt, all sellers' offers are quite similar in layout and all are registered in CN, all the same return address in Germany. To me it looks like only one operator is behind all of them, so I leave it to s.o. else holding the defective baby first...better wait until the real object of desire finally stands in the garage...

Try to program PDLS+ You will see what is high beam assist and full beam assist :) i have PDLS+ in Panamera and only high beam assist in Macan and...the difference is huge. It is a pity that I have no idea how to turn it on in Macan 2020. I have the lamps adjusted. Combine - it's worth it

I followed that discussion from Europe, because I was interested whether there is a hardware difference in PDLS and PDLS+, i. e. whether it is possible to upgrade by SW settings only???

In my order for Macan T there was the choice between PDLS (included) and PDLS+ (option for 450 bucks, which I did not order because I don´t like the idea of some feature suddenly adjusting or changing lighting in critical situations...rather accept some discomforting glare for the oncoming traffic).

PDLS does the following according to the translation of the german descriptions:
  • static & dynamic light following curves (static means activation of fixed side lighting, dynamic means "pivoting" Low Beam),
  • "bad weather" (traditional front fog!?) light and
  • speed-dependent dynamic range Low Beam Lighting (which is not HBA, but rather a Low Beam Assist!) and
  • daytime running light.

PDLS+ adds
  • dynamic range High Beam Lighting (oncoming traffic dependent), which sounds like HBA and
  • navigation based activation of static (s. a.) lighting when approaching intersections

Which leads me to the interpretation that there are rather two main options:
  • a Low Beam Assist (PDLS) or
  • Full Beam Assist, i. e. LBA + HBA (PDLS+),
at least that way in Germany...

With the latest update apparently older saved files are not readable. Can anyone provide me with the stock boost pressure under

Instrument Cluster
Extended codings
Extended codings_0
Extended codings-Max. boost pressure

I thought changing this originally would've just changed the bar graph max value but it actually just "fakes" that I'm showing 24psi stock, I went to revert but reading from the save file fails should've reverted pre upgrade.

Base 22 2.0 macan

Can you read your saved file with a txt-editor?
Eventually, you can identify the original value in it....

I probably should've been more clear , after I went to read file and it said it was not there I went into the folder and all the text files had been removed with the update which included ally bmw files too, so it's partially unfortunate but the bmw files include defaults in the helper text so it's less of a problem.

I have a couple of spreadsheet questions noted after I received my X431 and did all the updates, and hooked it up to my 17 GTS to learn the nav and explore:

1) High Beam Assist is something I am planning to do but noticed the options in the menus say "Shutdown" / "Open" - is this a different way of noting on/off or activ / inactiv?

2) on the rear lift gate, I notice options to enable close from driver door but don't see it in the sheet - anyone done this?

Looks like base boost was 1.0, glad I documented my own stuff in this thread lol

Looking to do some coding on my 22 Macan, I was wondering if anyone in the area, I'm on LI, but happy to drive to NJ, CT, PA, etc that would let me use their X431 in exchange for some lunch or similar treat?

Thank you!
Sorry, can't help you SSmith.
But as long as we are trying to find someone in "the area", is there a hungry and/or thirsty coder in the South Florida area?

So today I did an oil change and there's varying information on how many quarts of oil.

Can someone confirm what I've found ?

Auto search > macan > system scan > instrument cluster

Read data stream > warning logger > data stream 1 > enter keyword "oil level" > select all > ok > read oil level outputs

Data record 02 should display your actual value of oil fill level

Mine was 87.1% after 5.5 quarts of oil 2022 base macan 2.0

So something interesting, others can check and report back, since I had the x431 out and had reverted my boost bargraph back to the default 1.0 bar it had almost annoyed me being enabled because it almost always shower 9psi or 14psi, yes you could see it move between the two but it was mostly those two numbers because of how Porsches set the scaling.

Anywho, I enabled expert menu and found that boost values showed up as actual values along with oil pressure and some other goodies I cared about. During my first drive I noticed something pretty interesting and that was under load 4th gear WOT in non sport mode the actual values spiked to almost 2.3 bar. Thinking there's no way Porsches piping 31 pounds of boost to a 2 liter 4cyl I verified between the normal constant speed between oil pressure and boost pressure and they were spot on. I'd be interested to see what people, under the expert menu with boost enabled as active value, that have tunes are seeing and other 2022 base macans etc as a report.

heres some pics

So it's funny you post this tonight, because I was going thru the same thing this evening. Got everything coded in but its almost stupid since its almost always at 9 or 15.

It seems like 9 is the actual bottom. What we need to see is if there is a way to adjust the actual minimum on the graph, not just the max. Have you looked for that yet?

It also seems like mine basically never goes below 9 if I'm actively driving, if I am on the highway and let off the gas, the car is coasting at 60mph, it just stays at 9. I think we need a way to make the min more .like .6 bar.

In expert mode, I got mine to hit up to 3.5 bar, but when I let off the gas it tapers down to 2.6-ish, if you subtract the baseline from the max you get something more like 18psi which seems realistic.

I don't think it's wrong but I wish I could see vac on the reading. At cold start it shows .6 bar or 9 psi before going back to 0bar but it really should should negative for vacuum.

I'm half tempted to buy a real boost gauge to see the actual boost because 33 psi is a lot of boost, even when I ran built Hondas back in the day we didn't boost that.

I did set the max boost to 2.5 bar and drove around and I could not get past 33 psi and gauge did not max.

I thought in another post you said that you felt when you had it set higher that it was essentially faking it being higher if you set it higher, that's not the case? I think the scale needs adjustment, but there is no way to adjust the min, right? Or the scale values?

Please Help me out? I'm in the market for a Launch X431 to unlock a few features on my P Vehicles: Macan's and Boxster 981S. I have neared down to 2 of their Scanners/Programmers.
The CRP919E OBD2 Scanner and the V Pro 4.0. It is my understanding (Please Correct me if my assumption is wrong) that both products have the same capabilities. But the V Pro 4.0 Elite version includes the cables needed to scan vehicle that were produce pre- OBD2 ports were in use and can connect via Bluetooth. If my assumption is correct the CPR919E is all what I need. Just need to connect via OBD2 port and I don't mind the use of a cable to do it.

Can someone who own a Launch X431 V Pro Elite, provide their input.?

#878 ·
Unless you're looking to save money with the cpr919e, and don't mind push button vs touchscreen, you should be able to do the same functions as the cpr919e is a bidirectional. If you want to spend a few bucks more go with the x431 diagun as the cheapest alternative

The oil measurement display in my Macan is different than in my 718. I discovered that you can change the display with coding…

This is the original display in my Macan, a single continuous segment with the message “Oil level is correct”.

Image

This below is what I have in my Cayman and now in my Macan with 4-segments and the message “Oil level OK”.

Image

This is the code…
Instrument Cluster: Coding Value: Coding byte 2- oil level.

Options: 1-segment or 4-segments
