Have bought a new car Macan, and I heard a friend say to brush some Porsche hidden functions, using the Porsche engineers version of the computer brush out, which a friend can help me brush out, computer engineer, who can brush out, please contact me, and I will thank you to the way you like.

I've hit a wall with my Launch. When I updated to Porsche V24.07 a few weeks ago, everything worked fine initially. But since a few weeks ago, every module except for Instrument Cluster, will not open, giving the usual error popup when trying to open them.

I tried going into my profile section and doing a firmware fix, which downloaded fully, but is unclear if it did anything.

I noticed something odd while running a system scan. It shows all items as Not Equipped. Even the most necessary and obvious things that I know I have like Airbag, Steering wheel Electronic, Lane Change Assist, Air Conditioning, Front Camera, Reversing Camera, Park Assist, Parking Break, Tire Pressure Monitor, the list goes on.

In that error pop up when attempting to open one of these modules, one of the numbered items it says to check is that the item is equipped in the car in the first place, so this is probably why the module isn't opening. I just don't understand what could have happened for the Launch to think I no longer have these features equipped.

I shared these screenshots in an email thread with the Launch customer support guy, but he stopped responding.

I fall into this group. I only have 24.05 showing, and I reached out to Launch support a couple of weeks ago about it. I have not heard anything back, yet, which is strange. Usually they're pretty prompt. Sadly, my subscription runs out next month, and I'm not sure I want to pay the $$ to renew.

Update: I installed the older V24.05 and still none of the modules work.
Tried a firmware fix on it too and didn’t work. Made sure to reboot device and car and unplug and reply the Bluetooth device.
V24.07 no longer shows as available either, as I was going to try to switch back since the problem wasn’t there when freshly having downloaded it.

Did you back off the firmware on the dongle (the bluetooth module for the OBDII port), too?

Launch support can tell you how to totally wipe and reload the x431 unit itself, but I'm not sure it will help.

When you first go into "Local Diagnose" then choose the Porsche module, then click on OK, does it correctly find the dongle? Right after you click on "Ok" after selecting the Porsche module, you should briefly see that it is searching for the dongle. After that, when you select "Automatically Search" does it identify your car/VIN correctly?

Is it possible to code anything to automatically tilt down the right exterior mirror, when in Reverse, to see the curbside ? I'm having this on my BMW. With my Macan, it seems that I need to manually press on the mirror switch (driver door) after engaging reverse gear to tilt it down.

Price is dependent on the model x431 you get ($634-$1000+) google and Amazon are your friends here. Their is no subscription fees to use the device (you do not need to be connected to a network to operate). It comes with 2 years of free updates, after that it's something like $400-$500 (don't quote me on the price) a year for updates.
You will only really need to update if you get a new model year car after 2 years of having the x431

I experimented extensively with Light Border/Limit, after I found it more than a year ago, in both PIWIS and X431 with no noticeable changes in behavior. There is also a Dark Border/Limit, but I haven’t experimented with that one. Not knowing how these parameters are used by the sensor (or even if these are the correct parameters to modify) is the issue.

I assumed that, because the units shown (W/m2) is a measure of solar irradiance, that it must be related to this. Maybe some additional experimentation with the combination of both parameters is warranted.

Will be interested to know if it works better for you all.

After changing the Light border/limit settings to 5 W/m2 (from 12, default value) I observed that the high beam assist is definitely working well before it's full dark night, which is great. I'm still on the fence about the impact on the headlights ON timing, I think it is switching to DRL with less light.

Hello lomelo_x,

Did you ever get the flashing brake lights to work? If so, what year and model Macan do you have? I have a 2022 GTS and have had the dealer and an indie try to make the changes. Both could see the codes but could not make the changes. Both were using PIWIS system with the version that was up-to-date as of July this year when they were trying to make the changes. They seem to think limitations were placed on the 2022+ models

I desperately want the flashing brake lights because I have been rear ended several times over the years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey,

Yes I have it working. I have a 2017 Macan GTS

I don’t see this feature being taken away… just tucked under a different name maybe.

Where are you located?

Regarding Launch eqt.,
- Does anybody have a recommendation whether to save 50 bucks on a 2022 X431 PROS MINI or better invest in a 2023 one?
(Trying to sit out 4M delivery time on an ordered 4c Mac T...awful...)

It's probably the same unit and they put "2023" like it's a new model or something for the year. All the software is the same it's just a matter of what size screen and hardware you want.

See if you can find the hardware listed and just compare against your needs. I went with the 10.1 because it was a Lenovo tablet and it was a big unit just like the snapon ones I'm used to.

Someone from EU could probably explain how the city light operates if it's actually active. I remember from my days with the Japanese Hondas and older Porsches there was a city light which was a small wattage bulb. These were either used as a DRL or to illuminate a side of the street, while parked, where there was no street light.

Since everything is an LED now no clue how this would operate

These will need a bit more digging to work.

VERY helpful to know what is possible. I'm still waiting for a '23 S so any information you can share about how these, and the other options you've highlighted can be changed and actually work will be appreciated. I'd like to know whether it's reasonable to ask the dealership to help set all these functions during delivery.
