Thursday this week I was with Porsche in Frankfurt for the IAA auto show. I was one of their guests and spent significant time in the Porsche VIP lounge. My questions on security was brought up with the German Porsche representatives. They are going to look into this and they agreed on the obvious inconsistencies in the safety systems. Will let you know more when thy get back. The show was great!
Any pictures of the auto show ?

I think the word that put him on the map was 'cute', or was it 'mudfence'?
I'll have to check wit White Tiger.........................................................

I'd like to see some photos you took at the car show, particularly the ones of you in the very important person area liaising with the porsche executives about the inadequacies of their cars. You know the rules : photos or it didn't happen. Just for completeness of course.

lol you spoke to porsche PR people at an auto show. they're low-mid level PR people, but i'm sure they're still good PR people. I'd tell someone like you i'd look into it too. Do you have a life?

please send us screenshots on when they get back to you.

you must be the life of a party!

"loaded with stuff rangeing from Ikea boxes to wood and garbage"

hahaha you told them your Porsche doesn't haul garbage like your Saab?
I bet they are spending their days looking into how to fix that!

You might be surprised. My company was at the IAA auto show as a Tier 1 supplier and we regularly have the top executives at the shows. Of course, this is for the press day and industry professional days. Public days are pretty low key

I am asking a general question. No matter the car or brand, when carrying a lot of loose items that are not absolutely secured doesn't the driver alter their driving ? Porsche or Mazda it should not matter if carrying a bunch of items one should driver slower, more deliberately knowing I have said items. I have the optional cargo management system securing things like a first aid kit and spare magazines ( just kidding) and have also adapted a net. But when I load surfboards inside I am mindful as I dont want them sliding etc and drive accordingly.

I am not out to bash you but if safety is your true concern shouldn't your driving be the first line of defense. Using nets, ropes, bungee cords etc etc does not absolve you of driving as fast as it is safe while carrying, what is it? 1500 or even 300 whatever figure of stuff you place in your Macan.

Lastly, the one picture of all those screens attached to your glass is illegal in the state of California. Why? studies by 3 major Universities around the world proved it was unsafe and the said items were projectiles if in an accident. Another picture you posted shows a gas can in your trunk....another interesting choice.

I think safety is obviously different from country to country but I am shocked you can legally drive with those screens in a nation like Sweden which claims to be on the forefront of automotive safety unless you are a scofflaw? :)

Ding, ding, ding!! We have a winner. Seriously, surface commercial transport in places that have regulations that matter puts the onus for safety on the driver. While commercial regulations are more detailed than those non commercial drivers face, the underlying principles are the same. Roll your vehicle by going too fast on an exit ramp and it doesn’t matter wether it was a Porsche, or a Freightliner.

At the end of the day it is the driver who is responsible.

I have a strong feeling there will be no response to this from OP. But I sleep better at night knowing Porsche has not compromised my safety by failing to provide me with a titanium net :)
