Sorry but you cannot be serious about safety or even close.

The front windscreen of your Macan is littered with LCD screens and other devices, these do nothing for safety but must detract from the 100% concentration you need on the task of driving and observing the road and surroundings.

In any case if you RTFM you will see plenty of advice about how to transport loads safely, Porsche therefore have it covered.

Porsche does it right, they let you specify what you need from their accessory range.

In the UK Macan we have manufacturer installed tie down brackets in the boot for securing loads.

Neither our 2015 S nor our 2017 GTS have the cargo management option, yet both have hooks in the headliner just aft of the front seats, and both additionally have hooks on the rear-facing sides of the b-pillars. Does the base Macan not have these hooks? Are you just complaining that you didn't get a cargo net, @Trued? If so, it's not a stretch to think that if you had been provided a net and loaded your Macan with 1500 liters of stuff (back seats down), you would proclaim the Macan 'unsafe' because your vision in the rear view mirror was impaired, and you couldn't see out the right-rear window. You would proclaim Porsche should come with extended truck-like door mirrors and a 360 degree full-time camera.

I think most Macan owners support a high level of auto safety, and believe Porsche provides that. I, for one, do not want, nor expect, a car that allows me to check my brain at the driver's door, then save me from every careless or dumb decision I've made before climbing in. That's 'nannyism' gone too far.

Transports 1500 liters of cargo. But no safety cargo net system comes with the car. The hinges on the back of the rear seats are there but no hinges in the headliner.
This is nothing but shameful. ...I do not want to get the answer I should have ticked the cargo management system.
No matter any response you get, your idea is fixed and won't change. Maybe this will help you out.

First, the NHTSA is big time on safety. If this was a safety issue, it would be mandated. There have been cars sold in Europe banned from sale in the USA for LACK OF SAFETY devices (e.g., 959).

Second, Porsche builds bespoke vehicles. Your argument is the stock argument against bespoke builds. While you think its important, others do not. Why should you force others to pay for what YOU want? One can make the same argument regarding safety for PDLS and the headlights that turn or automatic dipping high beam.

If your issue is "Porsche should just provide this", then what about the trailer hitch? It can tow so much stuff. Why do you have to pay for the trailer connection? What about the skid plates. The car can go on dirt roads. Why aren't skid plates forced on everyone?

Your argument is the old "but my xyz car has this, why not this car?" Well, go buy the other car. No one forced you to buy this one. The pricing model is bespoke. You build it your way. The next guy build it their way. Everyone is happy as not every option is forced on everyone.

I know you don't like the responses but this is how it works. Just think. Why should any other member here pay for something they don't want? But you do. What if everyone said "Porsche sells performance vehicles. Therefore PCCB should be mandated for every vehicle. Its safer!" How would you like it the price of every car went up $8,000 but you don't want PCCB?

If you missed the option, then now you know to do more due diligence and research the options for next time. But don't force what you want to be on every vehicle sold for others who do not want it.

This is why you have a choice. :)

BTW, that clutter of stuff on your windshield? Thats probably an excuse to get pulled over in the US in many states for ... clutter, diminished visibility. I wouldn't be surprised if they called it distracted driving.

I could not agree more! If you want to be babied by a car manufacturer then go buy a Volvo. They're made in Sweden, by Swedes.

Is this for real? I'm new to the party -- this is actually someone's Macan? I thought it was a joke.
Yep. It's all about safety apparently............ You don't want anything flying around the passenger compartment in the event of an accident I believe he said. I assume that would include anything impairing the driver's vision as well? You know, safety and all that >:D

It is incumbent upon the user to load and secure cargo in a manner that meets their personal assessment of risk. Porsche conscientiously provides anchor points and other mechanisms for doing so. How is this negligence on Porsche's part?

Please try to stick to the question of cargo net.

I never thought that someone who owns a car will clutter the windshield like what you ( Trued ) did, let alone someone who claims to be a traffic safety expert.<---- i'm having doubts , real doubts that is....just expressing my thoughts and feelings.
You are right the device in the middle is an anti collision ? detector + Lane Departure warning ? system.

Those devices still obstruct forward vision which is a safety issue - speaks directly to your claim to be a safety expert @Trued.

He has a point. Porsche also didn't provide a place to store my loaded guns, dagger collection or a vat of boiling oil yet they all fit in the back!!! this thing is a death trap. Glad I've been enlightened about just how unsafe the car is. It won't protect me from every stupid thing I may do in it?? What else? don't even tell me it won't prevent pregnancy!!

And what about that cup of HOT MacDonald's coffee in your lap while driving your Macan?
